Jurassic World (June 12, 2015)

that said, though, it did have one of my favorite moments in any JP movie, and that's when the random guy was making sure he had his cups of alcohol (or whatever it was he was drinking) when the pterodactyls were attacking all of the tourists.

That was Jimmy Buffett. No really, it was.

Saw it in IMAX 3D last night. Didn't think this was as good as most people seem to. I thought the final "battle" was silly. Enjoyed the nods to the first film throughout. I thought Chris Pratt did an excellent job and was a solid casting, but I could take or leave Bryce Dallas-Howard and the kids.

Overall, wasn't too impressed, but it was still better than the steaming piles of crap that were The Lost World and JP III.

When someone made the mention that Rexy is the same T-Rex from Jurassic Park, I was under the impression that it was the same movie prop. I didn't realize that it's the actual T-Rex that terrorized the original park some 22 years earlier. That T-Rex would technically be 25 years old in Jurassic World since it was 3 years old in the Jurassic Park film. What an old lady.

Characters, story, and movie overall was terrible. Oh well.

So many stupid things in here. Pratt's character was awful. Vincent's character was awful. Plot points were awful and made no sense.

I wanted to see it and wasn't expecting much. About what I got.

It is a movie about dinosaurs in a theme park on an island. Lol

I'm sure you're just a joy to be around.

Yeah, I'm a joy. Glad you noticed. I didn't like it, that really does reveal a lot about me. As I said, no big deal I didn't care for it. If you liked it, that's great.

I hate it when people use this line of reasoning; just because it's a fantasy film doesn't mean it automatically gets a pass on plot, characters, dialogue, etc.

It does when you go in expecting Citizen Kane or Gone With the Wind and end up getting a movie about dinosaurs terrorizing people on an island. It's called Jurassic World. You should know what you're getting yourself into. Dont be weird.

I wasn't aware he ever said he was expecting all those types of movies. By your logic, the prequel Star Wars movies are all awesome.

After the Phantom Menace? Jurassic World is Dr. Zhivago by comparison. :pinch: I loved it but knew what I was getting...Dinosaurs, Chris Pratt quips and Richie Cunningham's daughter. :). Didn't disappoint.

They all sucked. You clearly know nothing. I bet you watched Friday the 13th and criticized the characterizations as well. Just stop. Each movie is different. You'll learn this as you get older.

for starters, just cause it's a ridiculous/silly story/plot, doesn't just automatically give it a pass on having a terrible script, bad acting, and things making absolutely no sense/being unrealistic. Can't stand it when people give such dumb excuses.

also, regarding the bold...

...umm...

Saw it this morning, and while I don't completely disagree with your post, I do think it's pretty accurate overall. I found Pratt's character the only really likable character honestly. Sure he was still a little hollow (especially when compared to the rest of the characters), but I thought he was ok. Was definitely given some pretty ****ty/cheesy lines though lol A lot of the stuff regarding the kids and their whole family was bad, and really dragged out the movie for no reason. d'onofrio's vill... i mean villia, i mean villain was sooooo bad.

Dino fights were awesome as hell though. I'd still give it roughly a 7/10 just for being so entertained the last hour of the movie.

This movie was pretty decent. I went into it with ZERO expectations because I could give two sh!!s about Jurassic Park and/or Dinosaurs. The bonus was the red head seemed to get hotter as the movie progressed.

I noticed the same thing. Dude had a cup in each hand and made sure they weren't spilling.

Overall I'll say 6/10. Plot was fairly predictable. Prideful bio engineer was working with the InGen?!?!?! That was kinda obvious early on. Hybrid T-Rex that can hide it's heat signature and camouflage itself was stupid.

Acting was meh. Redhead was nice to look at and dinosaurs fights are the 6.

The bio engineer was the same guy that worked at the park in the first movie who bred raptors. I wouldn't call it that big of a twist that he was working with InGen considering his history. He was pretty established as shady early on.

The movie was garbage. Nothing but a 2 hour CGI tech demo. The actual humans in this movie were completely inconsequential to the story. They are merely props that served only to bridge the gap between dinosaur scenes.

One of the things that made the first movie so great was that some of the BEST scenes didn't even involve dinosaurs at all. It was filled with terrific characters that you cared about with great dialogue and memorable quotes. Jurassic World doesn't possess that at all. You care about none of these people. This, again, was just another completely forgettable summer popcorn flick. Yeah, it's pulling in the money but I attribute that more to hype and marketing than I do quality.

Finally saw this movie tonight, now that it's OnDemand.

I want my $7 back.

Absolute crap.

The original has nostalgia but if u just watch them both without thinking about all the nostalgia this one is better .

Watched both with open eyes. Thought the trained raptors would be epic...mixed results. Wonderment observing something new can't be CGId...better effects and this newest genetic monster is super harsh...no duplicating that first T-Rex scene in the original.

The I- Rex is my favorite dinosaur in the movies . The epic fight at the end with the T-Rex and him was absolutely amazing film making . But in all honestly I think the actors in the new one were SO much better
