Just quit my job

What drives ambition? Money!

I think you are just defining "greed" differently than me. I don't believe doing the best you can, to have the best you can is "greed". What I would call "greed" is probably what you would think of as gross avarice. But if that is OK with you, then we have nothing more to discuss...have a nice day ☺

nevermind, I misread it.........yes, it's garbage that you can get unemployment for quitting a job and that the former employer has to pay it.

Really? I had to draw for a short time about 25 years ago. I'm pretty sure at that time you had to have been laid off. Couldn't draw if you quit or got fired.

It's a claimants world now a claim is nothing but a request. Company says no then you can fight it but the company better have have a rock solid reason besides "I don't want to". If the claimant presents it as a hostile environment or made it difficult to work, they'll rule against the company. Sometimes it's easier especially with a big place like Nissan to just pay and call it a day. It would cost even more to fight it. Same thought holds true in the Work Comp area

Interesting, I had no idea. I just found out recently that people on food stamps have a card now that looks almost identical to my credit union debit card. Apparently using actual foodstamps was embarrassing for them....

I can't tell you how many times my wife has had to go to court because they denied a unemployment claim.

The former employee still got the benefits on appeal.

Dealt with this a ton, not once have I seen someone denied unemployment after a hearing, no matter how justified their termination of how useless they were as an employee.

Unless he is unable to get gainful employment after 2 months

Quitting a job does not disqualify you for unemployment benefits.

And, that my friend, is one of the soooooo many things screwed up about our country

Our company shuts down 3-4 weeks a year for inventory, or just to clear out the warehouse. They let us draw for those weeks. Its not a big check, but its nice to have a week off and get to draw something.

You should quit your job perhaps 1 & 2 years prior to telling anyone your report to and still draw checks...

I used to know a guy that 'worked' for 6 months. Clocked in, went to the mall and walked around with his girlfriend, went back to work and clocked out.

It happens a lot..some just get away with it and sometimes its legit..I worked with a guy once who literally slept half the night(3rd shift) in a bathroom stall..and I remember once in college I worked for a union factory..sometimes there wasn't work or a machine was down..they still had to pay us for 4 hours so they sent us to a break room...I would have rather pushed a broom(this was before smartphones :)

and then there was this
Post Office has thousands of workers paid for ? not working « Hot Air

Didn't an Oklahoma player get in trouble for that a few years ago? Had an off-season job at a car lot and did that?
