What drives ambition? Money!
nevermind, I misread it.........yes, it's garbage that you can get unemployment for quitting a job and that the former employer has to pay it.
Really? I had to draw for a short time about 25 years ago. I'm pretty sure at that time you had to have been laid off. Couldn't draw if you quit or got fired.
It's a claimants world now a claim is nothing but a request. Company says no then you can fight it but the company better have have a rock solid reason besides "I don't want to". If the claimant presents it as a hostile environment or made it difficult to work, they'll rule against the company. Sometimes it's easier especially with a big place like Nissan to just pay and call it a day. It would cost even more to fight it. Same thought holds true in the Work Comp area

I can't tell you how many times my wife has had to go to court because they denied a unemployment claim.
The former employee still got the benefits on appeal.

I used to know a guy that 'worked' for 6 months. Clocked in, went to the mall and walked around with his girlfriend, went back to work and clocked out.
