Where is Dooley's ring. And haven't seen him on ESPN lately neither have any of the potential recruits Gruden would bring. Comparing him to Dooley is like comparing a corvette to a chevette
Half the coaches, and half the teams, in the NFL have a .450% record (with the other half having .550%). That's one of the things to hate about the NFL. The key to the college game is recruiting. Exactally who do you think would be a better recruiter than Gruden?
Can you say in all honesty that Gruden can walk into any top recruit's house in the country and that recruit tell him no? I know some will have their minds set on the teams they have always dreamed of playing for and I respect that and think they should go after their dream BUT he can bring some big time recruits to Knoxville and coach the H3LL out of them and win a ton of ball games.
So he's a .500 coach in the NFL. Has nothing to do with the college level. Apples to oranges IMO
This sums it up about as well as anything. It's been explained ad nauseam but comparing NFL winning percentages to NCAA winning percentages is apples and oranges.
Don`t know what the OP is thinking. NFL is not the same as college. I mean Charlie Weis was a pretty successful OC, he has 4 super bowl rings to prove it. Look how well he has done as a head coach in college.

We all get it that you have something against Gruden, but let me ask you this: do you see Jon Gruden and Charlie Weis as comparable in terms of a transition to college football? One was a Super Bowl winning head coach, the other a second fiddle. One has charisma and humph out the wazoo, the other does not. Are they still comparable, in your opinion?
