A bit off topic, but I've always thought the Rivals ratings were pretty weird, scale-wise. Isn't a 5.7 a 3*, 5.8-6 are 4*s and 6.1 is a 5* or something? They are so close together, on such a random scale.

I could see 1-10 or 1-100, but 5.2 to 6.1?? How high were they when they came up with that?

Very

Which ones? UGA didn’t really go instate much this year. Broderick Jones and Tate are the big 2 they got and Burton is technically from Georgia. I think those 3 are elite, but the WR and Stackhouse seem like projects. I remember when many UGA fans though Stackhouse was getting processed.
Watched Stackhouse once and was not impressed, Justin Robinson 3 times, he is soft, no dog in him.

They are the most favorable for us this year (based on the kids we got)...so naturally they are by far the best and most accurate service. Lol

Robinson just seems like a depth guy considering they pulled Arian smith, jermain burton, and Marcus rosemy. They also have a higher ranked DT. Think the idea is to get the big names then you have the freedom to go for projects, raw talent with high upside.

No, but does that not seem like simple logic to you?
No, I actually think Smart is making another sophomoric mistake by not recruiting the state. Georgia is nearly if not the best HS football state and he is looking elsewhere which will come back to haunt him when things go south and the players and HS coaches remember him looking elsewhere. Need a heavy dose of in state life long fan players in any program....

But we were just talking about if hitting on your main targets allowed you to take projects. I agree to some extent about recruiting Georgia, but he’s also at the point where he can recruit nationally. Not sure many ppl would take Tank over Zach Evans.

Nah, you were talking projects, the whole conversation you got in the middle of was UGA's class overrated etc.
I'll keep it simple, try to keep up.
1. Clemson owns your state, not good for Dawgs
2. The core of a recruiting class should be in state, around 10 players that always wanted to play for the school, just look at the top 10 other than Clemson as SC football is not great due to #'s which is why they decided to own GA in recruiting
3. Collins will start competing and winning in state talent, not good for Kirby
4. When things go south you need the in state "well" but Kirby is burning those bridges; see Grayson class last year or Marietta class this year. You think Mays is better than Morris? You think Mays is more likely to leave as he is not a life long dog fan or an in state guy?
5. Beck had a terrible season, likely 3 better QB's in state, none to Georgia, how is that national recruiting working out?
6. Washington over Gilbert? Nah, Gilbert is likely to be Gronk and Washington is more limited in what you can run with him, that is if the get him.
7. #1 RB in state 2021, Brown wants to go to Clemson. How does that happen?
8. You can't watch as many games of guys from say, California, in person to really know if the guy is a good fit, star gazing is a risky business. Film only tells so much.
9. When things go south and national recruits turn heads where do you go? Turn south you say, yeah, Kirby peaked last year. Next year will be rough; Thomas & Wilson gone. Therefore Fromm gone, but hey maybe Beck will play like he did his junior year... Swift gone. Lecounte gone IMO. Reed gone. All of the good assistant coaches, well they are gone.
10. So when 5* Cambell is having trouble starting do you think a guy like him is more likely to hit the portal vs a lifelong fan like Herrien?
Class dismissed.

Really just trying to have a civil conversation with you, not a pissing contest.
1. I agree instate recruiting is vital if you can’t recruit nationally.
2. It’s not worth it to chase local guys who aren’t interested if you can get an interested recruit elsewhere or the same caliber or higher.
3. Maybe Collins gets it going. If he does it hurts every school that recruits GA, not just UGA and with UGA recruiting nationally it hurts less.
4. Things haven’t gone south, so there’s no way to know. Mays and Morris weren’t in the same class, so Smart didn’t take Mays over Morris. Morris was a great player; just happened UGA was stacked at his position and he didn’t want to wait. I can respect that.
5. I agree Beck’s season was alarming. If Fromm doesn’t leave its irrelevant and if he does there are plenty of transfers. The last 3 heisman winners were transfer QB’s and 3/4 playoff teams have transfer QB’s.
6. UGA recruited both. Supposedly Gilbert didn’t want to play with Washington and had reservations about being a TE in UGA’s offense. Both legitimate concerns.
7. Brown wants to go to Clemson... ok, Clemson is in the middle of a dynasty and are excellent recruiters. Most would understand that. UGA seems like they’ll grab Evans and Milton this year.
8. I honestly don’t watch many recruits play.
9. UGA has recruited well enough that players leaving shouldn’t be an excuse. Think we both agree there.
10. Campbell did fine when healthy this year. Also, when you recruit well good players might take your spot if you get hurt.

Again, wasn’t trying to troll you. Sorry if it came off that way.

Understood and I apologize. Looking back at my posts they were a bit overt.
No need to hijack OP's calculator thread.
If you quote my last post and reply in the "Recruiting Forum Football Talk II" and say "ready" I'll look for your post and we can chat further, looks like you have some good points...

It’s all good. I agreed with some of your points as well. To get back on track, the calculator may be a bit misleading due to certain teams’ recruits getting a bump and others not. Pruitt has an eye for talent as evidenced by him getting Roquan and Baker at UGA and the 5 all sec freshman at UT. Despite the buzz I still think UT ends up with Washington as well.
