Just watched the Vols/Hokies news conference.

I will agree with a lot, but not 160,000. And when the grandstands aren't packed, it will look really bad.

How many people would actually be willing to sit in Turn 3 just to say they were there for "the experience?"

A lot more than you would imagine will pay just to be part of the spectacle.

I was at the game with the largest Vols crowd ever. I plan to do my part to make sure I'm part of the largest Vol crowd ever this time.

Sorry, I don't think $93 is too much to pay to be in an atmosphere where the Vols are playing in a game with the largest crowd in the history of the world. It's 3 years away, get a freaking piggy bank

I don't think it's just about money. It's about paying $93 to not get a good view of the game. Sure the sightlines will be just fine, but view will be forever away and to many of us, that is appalling.

No.

Since you like it, you automatically assume we all think anyone wanting to go is stupid. You are as guilty as you are trying to make us on the either seem.

I'm just tired of something great like this coming along and immediately people finding something wrong with it. Whether it be the view or the price. Whatever. This is going to be the biggest game in history and people are crying because they might have to buy a pair of binoculars or save $93 over a 3 year period. If you want to sit closer buy better seats. Don't knock the game all together. Or better yet, don't go to the game but quit complaining about every little thing that comes along because plenty of others are damn excited about this opportunity.

This game isn't remotely close to the biggest game in history. Maybe in size, but not significance. And by the drawings and mock up, there aren't going to be that many close seats. That's the issue for most of us. We have just as much a right to discuss our dislike and/or disapproval of it as you do your like and approval of the idea. If you have problems with that, maybe you shouldn't be here. If that bothers you, I'm sorry, but it's what a messageboard is built on.

more good news: you don't have to pay $93 for a ticket. That's the average and like some have said, there will be cheaper tickets (starting at around $40).

Better believe I will go to every single UT game for $40 no matter how "bad" the view might be. but hey, that's just me

I got my tickets today right after the press conference.... Have to be a season ticket holder at the moment..... $40 each reservation.... You also have to keep your season tickets through 2016 or you lose deposit and reservation.... :)

I got six. You have to have 4 season tickets to get 6. 2 season tickets only gets you 3 for game. BMS told me your seating would be based off date of reservation. They told me I would have choice of seating available to BMS. Which they assured me would be field level and 50 yard line.... They asked if I was a Vol or Hokie fan and wanted to make sure I wanted to sit with UT fans.... Also asked if I would be interested in VIP packages.... They are going to do this up big.... If you know anything about Bristol you know that.....

GBO!!!! I will be there as long as I can still walk.... Tickets reserved!!!! GBO!!!!

yeah, and the $40 ticket will be closer to Beaver Creek than it will the football game. Again, that's the problem. Geesh, I wish reading comprehension was tested for here before memberships were approved.

Considering I found watching a game at the Rose Bowl essentially "unwatchable" due to its layout, I doubt I'll go to this. Hope the cameras get nice angles for those of us watching it on TV. Those of you that go, enjoy and more power to you.

Of course I meant crowd-wise. I have just as much right to express my dislike of your complaining as you do of the view. It's pitiful that you can't see how big this will be for Tennessee football on a national level. With all of the negativity that has surrounded our program over the last 5 years, it blows my mind that you can still find something wrong with a positive event.

Did you not read where I mentioned the "bad views"? I do not have a reading comprehension problem there good sir.

I clearly stated that the views might be "bad" but that the tickets for those would be only $40, where you kept going on about bad views and having to pay $93

When somebody makes a direct argument against your main point, then I would not say that they have reading comprehension problems.

Ok we get it, damn. You don't have to keep commenting on almost every post letting us know how stupid this is. Some of us are excited about it. GTF over yourself already, there's got to be some other thread that you'd like to repeatedly post your displeasure in.

No. $93 is the average price. So those will likely be front row grandstands. You'll still be further away than any seat at neyland. You really aren't good at this.

Wow! From the side this is a long way away and if you happen to sit in turns 1/2 or 3/4 near the back it will be even further.

Still an awesome spectacle! Great publicity and recruiting hype. Our program needs things like this! :good!:

As a 55 year Vol fan that grew up and lived in Hokie country this is going to be an amazing event. Forget 2009 or any records when this game is played. For these young men to be playing in an atmosphere like this will be a lasting memory. Talking heads are saying they can't get 160,000 fans. HA With 100,000 rabid Vol fans and 80,000 Hokie fans this will be a scalpers paradise.
I have been talking about my twin grand sons been future Vols. They will be 5 years old then and we have decided this will be their 1st game since its only 60 miles from home. So I'm going after 6 tickets ASAP> :clapping:
Going to be great. GO VOLS!!!!!!!!

You can probably add in 30,00 - 50,000 rabid NASCAR fans that don't necessarily follow football but want to go to the track and watch the game.

no, sir, you are not any good at this.

1.
I am very aware. I have mentioned this numerous times in my previous posts.

2.
I never said anything contrary to that. Don't see why you're bringing that up. Nobody is forcing you to buy a ticket. If it looks that unappealing to you, I don't really see the point in complaining as you probably won't go (unless you do so solely to be miserable/complain).

I said that you can choose to buy tickets that are $93 or you can choose to buy seats that are $40 that might have a "bad" view. Never compared anything to Neyland stadium as you just did.

I could go on for a long time, as I somewhat enjoy arguing/proving people wrong. But I'll try to be mature and suffice it to say that we just disagree.

Some people (like myself and others here) get really excited about UT sports and think it would be awesome to go to the largest game (attendance-wise) in history to see our Vols play. If you can't find enjoyment out of that, and simply complain because you might not be able to see as well as normal at Neyland or some other venue, well there isn't anything to even argue about. You just have a different point of view on this and probably life (and I kinda feel sorry for you).

Carry on. :hi:

the $93 seats are still going to be bad. They are going to be 1/4 of the infield, all of pit road and the itself away from the field. That's what you have proven to be unable to comprehend. But hey. "carry on. :hi:"

lol. Thanks for proving my point. Oh no, someone disagrees with me. What a negavol, he doesn't like having a game at BMS, obviously he just hates life and is probably on suicide watch, probably the most depressed man in the whole world! Oh my, his life must be awful. It's humorous how y'all overreact to everything and then accuse others of doing such.

Pardon me, I won't post my opinions anymore. Oh wait, yes I will.
