Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has passed away

I've always said he should be removed by any legal means available.
It wasn't about things going against them, it was about the election of a horrendously despicable human.
You guys never seem able to process that critical distinction.
Would you have felt the same if the other horrendously despicable human had been elected?

Of course not because your politics align.

I would like to think we could all agree on the examples you gave because there morally wrong and would expect any decent human being to stand up against those ideas.

I will clarify my position on Trump. I do not believe he is Presidential and wish someone would take his Twitter account away. However, if you look past his rhetoric he has done some worthwhile things.

Out of curiosity, what exactly has he specifically done that leads you to believe that his Presidency has been a colossal mistake? If you take a step back and really analyze it. Other than his tweets, shooting of at the mouth and overall lack of professionalism at times he really hasn’t done anything different from other Presidents.

In your opinion, do you think if the media had shown a little more respect to the title of President rather than spewing hate towards Trump he would have changed his tune.

Every President in the past has had to face difficulties from the media and yes, that comes with the territory but even with those dissenting opinions. I’ve never seen such blatant disrespect for a President no matter which political party they were. It’s a two way street.
Selecting Bannon, Stone, and Manafort as advisors should have been the red flag that turned every reasonable person away.
He ran his campaign exactly as they advised....as a divisive nationalist who portrays the media as the enemy.
His piss poor example of acceptable decorum.
His habitual lying.
The childish and insulting nicknames.
His intentional fanning of the flames of distrust and division.
His complete denial of science.

Trump brought the media response on himself, intentionally.
Look no further than the night of the inauguration when he sent Spicer out to lie because of his fragile ego.
The next day Conway introduced the glorious term "alternative facts".

I fully expected the radical right to go ape sh!t when Hillary won and to do everything within their power to disrupt her presidency and get her out of office if possible. I viewed that as maybe 20% at most. (which is a lot) Usually a president will only have about 5% in radical opposition. That's one reason why I didn't support Hillary in the primaries.
Trump had 40-50% in radical opposition. An unheard of number. And a number that should speak volumes.
I always said critical mass was key. We hovered right on the edge. I will forever be amazed that there were not enough sane repubs. to tilt the balance. And it will always be their cross to bear.
If he were somehow to win again, the 50% will immediately be back looking for those last few who will tip the scale.

The continuum says there’s a 98.9% chance it won’t , and probably won’t change anybody’s mind at all . It’s not like we are all independent voters waiting to decide who to vote for . The lines have been drawn for 4 years , we are just waiting for the votes to be counted now . Who will show up at the voters box and in what states .

You underestimate the numbers against Hillary. The opposition was much higher. Most people who don't claim allegiance to the Democrats recognize how crooked she really was. They don't blame a years long, vast right wing propaganda conspiracy for all the trouble she kept finding herself in.

The true purpose behind Trumps election is finally coming to fruition. Soon his re-election won't matter.

And look at how you've become the very imaginary enemy you so feared.

She thought way too much of herself and her importance, she should have retired while Obama was in office and could appoint her replacement. Her hubris will be the cause of her seat moving right.

Or maybe, just maybe she was like many hard working Americans that are determined, and work until there dying days.

I wish, for her sake, she could have spent more time with her family instead of working until her death.

Yeah. Too bad she pizzed on it towards the end by getting political and opening her mouth about Mr Trump's 'qualification' to be POTUS. She should have stfu.

She probably shouldn't have gotten political but she wasn't wrong. Drumpf qualifications included slimy real estate deals and reality t.v.

Two things are certain:

1) McConnell and the Republicans were full of crap with Garland's nomination, and

2) They will be full of crap on this one.

But I don't think they would, just because of the precedent set with Garland 4 years ago.
Probably been covered in here many times since I went to bed earlier but the difference is the Democrats did not have the Senate when Garland was nominated and therefore could not force a vote. Pres. Obama taught us that "elections have consequences." That includes 2016, 2018, and whatever happens this year. I understand, liberals want Garland to be a precedent and conservatives will distinguish based on who has the majority in the Senate. End of the day, it is going to be about the exercise of raw political power. Republicans will have the power to do as they will until January 3 no matter what happens in November. I don't know what will happen. Maybe McConnell doesn't get the votes. A lot will depend on who the nominee is. Right now, we have 4 conservatives, 4 liberals, and a right-leaning swing voter. If a liberal is replaced by a conservative, a lot of aspects of the liberal agenda that rely on constitutional interpretation will be dead for a generation. Everyone understands the stakes.

Kind of the point. She was a Supreme Court Justice. Justices shouldn't delve into politics, at least not in public. Their whole job is based in neutrality, on being unbiased and fair. Talking politics, which she did, should be taboo.
