Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has passed away

Wow. Thread with all the Republicans on the record saying if it's an election year, you gotta let the people decide a president who then gets to appoint.

You aren’t going to be happy with what happens next I’m afraid . So go ahead and put all them Republicans on your will not vote for list .

Huh??? Which part am I wrong about? Obama nominates, Senate didn’t vote.
Where does it say that a sitting President can't nominate someone for the Supreme Court when there is a vacancy and 10 months left in their term? In March of 2016, Obama wasn't even a "lame duck" in the truest sense. A lame duck is what you have after a successor has been either elected or named, in between the time that successor takes office. Obama wasn't really a lame duck until November.

Read my quote. I just stated facts. My opinions are in parenthesis. I still believe it’s not the right move for a President to nominate a Justice in an election year.

But you’re right. It doesn’t say anywhere that the President can’t, so Trump might as well nominate and Senate confirm before 11/3.

You underestimate the numbers against Hillary. The opposition was much higher. Most people who don't claim allegiance to the Democrats recognize how crooked she really was. They don't blame a years long, vast right wing propaganda conspiracy for all the trouble she kept finding herself in.
I probably did underestimate the numbers against Hillary just as I overestimated the number of reasonable repubs.
There will always be people who feel they are justified in trying to disrupt / remove a particular president.
5%, 12%, 20%, 30%, 38%, 45%, 58%, 72%, 85%.
It will also always boil down to what that percentage is.
The percent against Trump is the highest ever and justifiably so. (should tell you something)
We didn't reach the magic number that would constitute critical mass. We were close. Our country would have been much better off moving forward had we reached that point.
What we are left with is a continued effort to paint Trump as normal, and I believe what I have said from day one.......
Normalizing Trump is the worst possible thing for this county.

Even my socialist wife is looking at this and saying RBG stayed around too long and should have retired before 2015 and basically allowed this situation to occur. It’s fairly damn obvious that to anybody paying attention.

That’s generally how it’s been. Moderate white women love RBG and post all the cringy “Notorious RBG” culturally appropriating BS and progressives/“socialists” are more willing to criticize her

Just dropped by to see how many in here have lost their minds.

Carry on.
