Justin Hunter and the morality behind post-injury play

I don't blame Hunter for what he did, and many players do the same thing. Personally I think Poole and Neal did it too.

My issue is how this fan base doesn't see how this type of behavior hurts a coaches ability to win games. Except for that one guy who says he doesn't blame Dooley for the Mizzou loss but Hunter. He get its! I've been using this type of thing in my arguments for why Dooley wasn't as incompetent as most on here like to think. He had a team full of players like this he never had the ability to fully purge before getting fired.

I know I'm going to get the "get over it Dooley is gone" and the "Geez give it up already" msgs, but my deal isn't Dooley as much as this fanbases inability to truly see how these little things trickle through and affect a coaches ability to succeed. We are going to see the same thing with CBJ if we aren't careful, and The Legion of the Miserable will bring him down too. That's my real concern cause it hurts UT which is what I care about. I reference Dooley so much cause frankly he is the only coach we can point back to in our recent history cause this next era of UT football imo started when Kiffin left. He blew up the popsicle stand, and all the years of mismanagement and debt just started flying everywhere fall all to see. And no this isn't a Dooley love deal he just happened to be the coach hired. My opinion would be the same if it were someone else.

Did you think this post was so relevant, you posted it twice? That being said, blame the AD who hired Kiffin and Dooley. Everything started rolling downhill when Dickey retired, and Hammy took over.

If I had been justin (with a young child and family), I would've done the same thing that he did. Take it easy and try to save my body to make some money.. But I'm not justin, and I would literally give my all for Tennessee if I had the opportunity to get on the field. Even if it was only for 1 play.. No matter what happened I wouldn't regret a millisecond of it. While I don't blame him for using his head and ensuring he would make some money.. I could care less..my blood runs orange..

Whats odd in 2012 JH had 1083 yds receiving and 9 td's sharing the ball with CP and ZR.
by comparison Julio Jones best year at Bama when he was a more primary target had
1133 yds, 7 td's - AJ Green had 848 yds, 9 TD's his best year at UGA

So even if JH was playing at 50% he put the same numbers as 2 of the better WR's to play in the SEC the past 5 years.

Im glad he preserved his health and future earnings. As long as the NFL forces kids into the 3 years removed from HS garbage I dont care 'how' they play their last year in college.
JH had a young child to care for, and hopefully he will be set for a long time now.

Why are you throwing a hissy fit at me? I didn't say my thoughts one way or the other. I asked a question to guage general responses.

If you'll notice in my OP I didn't answer my own question. You should make an attempt at reading things thoroughly before you lash out at them.

Didn't mean to hurty yo fillings. Here, hope you feel better now:

My football coach always said if you go all-out, 100 percent of the time, your chances of injury go way, way down. I never got hurt. I often saw slacking players hurt. Hunter maybe should consider my old coach's advice.

As far as depth fixing the problem, Hunter seems like one of those that could go much less than 100 percent and still be better than most.

Someone has a morality problem because they played tentative at times while recovering from a major knee surgery? The natural response is to protect it and that is the urge one has to overcome. I think he had a great season and very good career.
