This would be more exciting if Gatorade actually picked the best HS football player in the nation for this award.

And just what has said "best high school football player in the nation" done for us lately? Stay classy.

Congratulations are in order to a future Vol and a stud of a football player.

Thanks for the positive energy brought to the board. Maybe it's not a bad thing they award it to a great player, who has great character and works hard in the classroom as well...

Man I get tired of nega-vols on this board. Jeez, if you don't have anything productive to say GTFO. Worley just won a HUGE award. Show the kid some love!

This is what it takes to be The Player of the Year:

Amongst Gatorade Player of the Year award alumni, fans will discover names like Peyton Manning, Candace Parker, Alonzo Mourning and Lisa Leslie. These champions represent only a handful of exceptional talents who were first recognized by the Gatorade Player of the Year program before shining at the highest levels of competition. Over the past 24 years, more than 10,500 state and 200 national Players of the Year have been honored for their athletic excellence, academic achievement and exemplary character.

Please tell me you are not serious.

Alright i might be a little biased but i dont think its that big of a stretch. The guy has thrown for over 50 TD's his last 2 years, and throws a touchdown every 9 times he touches the ball. I dont know know exactly what the criteria is to get a 5 star, but if his stats, along with his offer list are any indication he should be considered for a 5th star.

I don't give a chit if the boy is a 3*, we know what we're getting. He's gonna fit into DD's system with all these future All-SEC recievers

How this kid doesn't at least get a 4th star is mind bottling. That's right, BOTTLING.

I mean come on Rivals.

btw, we have two players of the year, one in one of the best states in the country (Randolph) and another the National POY (Worley), and both are 3 stars. Ridick.
