Justin Worley the last 2 games

thing about it is he can run and should more often .. why he dont i will never know.

Think about a littel more and you might just figure it out.

You saw the back up against FL (how'd that go?) and he's now on IR. The other guys are true freshmen that the coach has repeatedly said he wants to red shirt. Do you really want Worley exposing himself to injury more than absolutely neccessary? Do you think CBJ is encouraging Worley to run 10 times a game?

Worley has improved but he takes to long to throw the ball--that is obvious. He is consistently late getting rid of the ball, partly because he's got an awkward wind-up before he releases the ball. We should be throwing mostly short passes.

I noticed that he was late but IMO he's just hesitating or waiting just a little too long... still a bit of a confidence thing. USCe made two plays on hitches that should have been completions. The WRs should have protected the ball with their bodies but Worley was just a fraction of a hair late getting the ball out.

He has to decide then deliver the ball. He has to make better pre and post snap reads to do that. Again, confidence.

Your opinion is not supported by the facts.

In the SC game he was 19 of 34 with 1 TD and 0 int - that's 55.9%. If he's missing more than he makes, then that adds up to something more than 111.8%.....can only go to 100%.

Surely you don't contend that the 45.1% of passes that weren't completed were all on Worley? I can think of at least 3 throws off the top of my head that were dropped by the receivers. There were also several throws where he was under heavy pressure and had to chunk it out of bounds to avoid a sack.

Payton's NFL completion rate is 65.4% so considering this is Worley's first year and he has been working with inexperienced WR's, he's not nearly as bad as your perception.

You got a like from me. :good!::good!::good!::good!::good!::good!:

Total Offense - NCAA.com

Currently:
Tot O (TN) = 89 (368YPG)
Tot O (QB) = 96 (167.6YPG)
Comp % = 87 (55.8%)
Passing Eff = 87 (119.3)
TD = 10 vs. INT = 6

As chemistry, timing, release, technique, trust continues to develop (for both QB & Receiver's) so should improvement.

I love stats... but you always have to put them in context. UT has played a very difficult schedule with few stat padding games.

Jones' "brick by brick" process isn't likely to result in wild swings in performance.... but rather a steady progression with an outbreak here and there.

Worley out quarterbacked the last two Qbs we've played who are top 5 SEC Qbs. (Minus the running stats/ability added on) This is with very young and inexperienced receivers.

I'm just glad we don't have Josh Freeman out there starting for us.

Worley seems to be a pretty even keeled guy. He seems to keep his head. I am likely in the minority but believe that we are better off with him right now than many possibly more talented QB's who can't take the pressure he's seen.

Stats can be deceptive either (good or bad) way. I posted these because they reflect considerable improvement over earlier stats someone had posted.

Ebb and flow are to be expected. Progress, steady or otherwise is good.

I don't disagree with that at all, just with the statement that it wasn't a bad throw.

It wasn't a "bad throw". It would have been better two yards longer. However he threw it where Blanc could make a play and the DB couldn't. He threw it to his back shoulder against the sideline.

It was a "good" throw that could have been better. It was also a bad play on the ball that could have been MUCH better. Not only did he bobble it... he lost body control. If he catches it clean with his feet under him... he scores easily. By no stretch am I against Blanc but a better WR scores on that play.

Worley , Peterman , Dobbs and Ferguson ....The only one who NEEDS to be our QB next year , is whoever Butch thinks is the best person for the job

If he intentionally threw it to his back shoulder, it was not a bad throw, but a bad decision. You don't back shoulder a wide open receiver racing down the sidelines. As I said, I agree he should have caught it; but the loss of body control was trying to adjust to a very very late throw (which can get the receiver killed) that was off-target.

He lost body control because he lacks the agility of some of the other guys. Not a knock on him... just the truth.

Worley consistently throws away from defenders even when he throws uncatchable balls. That's been one of the "improvements". He needs to dial it back in a little closer now... but I doubt that it was accidental.

He got away with not doing that on North's first deep catch. With a lesser WR, that's a pick.
