Kansas not taking a wait and see approach

OU and Texas are either going to push the issue and see if others also bolt, thus negating the deal, or they'll simply stand pat until 2025. They aren't going to pay $80 million.
I'd suspect when Clemson decides that the lure of the SEC as a "super conference" is too lucrative, the ACC buyouts will be tough to collect also....... though I imagine Duke and Virginia have way better lawyers than Oklahoma State. 😉

Clemson isn't jumping to the SEC. The ACC will get to 16 teams.

The contract for the Big12 CSG ends at the end of this season...2021. It is a leverage point for UTx and OU that will have a direct bearing on the TV deal. They're not staying until 2025, although I can understand why Bama fans hope they do.

I like Matt Campbell at Iowa State and he's been building a little something out there. I assume they'll call the B1G also but I doubt they get in.

It's tough, right now, for the almost, but not quite there programs like BYU, ISU, Boise State, etc.

I can't see where good options are for these guys.
Big 10 easily accepts Iowa State. Would’ve happened eventually regardless of this latest development.

Clemson does not help the SEC TV deal. Clemson will eventually slide back to what they were for the 20 years between Ford and Swinney, which doesn't carry much viewership. Just going off history, they're probably more than halfway through their current streak.

I read $70 something mil yesterday…and yes they will. SEC Network haul goes up to at least $60 mil per team and add what CBS or another entity will have to fork out. Most likely never have to touch any of that to pay off the Big 12 tho. There’s a million potential marketing agreements that the big oil dummies would love to write off.

What's in it for the B1G? Certainly not eyeballs.

I like what Campbell's done there but ISU really brings nothing to the table.
Natural rivalry with Iowa and they’re better than half of the present conference. That’s a rabid fanbase…it’s not Vandy or Northwestern.

It's all about TV markets and IA State doesn't bring much to the table in that regard.
The Waco TV market all that? Natural rivalries are easier. They’re already smack dab in the geography.

If the B1G gets ND, I don't like the ACC's survival chances. Duke will fade even quicker without Coach K, UNC is trying to become a football school, not a basketball school.

Even if they get to 16 schools, beyond Clemson, right now, they're pretty useless. Like Texas and Oklahoma....... better to leave the sinking ship with dry feet than wait and swim away.

Yep if the ACC doesn't get ND then Clemson may bolt just not enough teams out there to make them into a super league..they might try to poach some SEC schools but doubt they get any takers

Bunch of Baylor alumni and fans in the DFW market. Bigger than anything IA offers.

ACC has ND for a few more years, except in football of course.

Where would they go? No room in the SEC.

B10 goes after a TX team, probably Baylor.
I don't THINK Baylor is an AAU school which has historically mattered to the B1G. At one time ND wasn't AAU either. I could be wrong but Nebraska....... might not be or have been AAU when they hit the B1G.

Traditions get trampled but that's an odd one they've held on to up there for some reason.

Some of the top ACC programs should consider where the college game is headed and what the long term costs/implications are of staying in a 2nd rate conference are. It makes those exit fees seem more palatable.

Somebody gets the "you're about to get cut" conversation.

"Hello, Vandy. You know, son, I've really enjoyed seeing your progress over the last few years. It's inspiring how hard you've worked....... but not everyone is meant to play SEC ball......."

A rabid Chihuahua is still just a Chihuahua.
Unless they can beat a Longhorn or Sooner…then you have to register them as dangerous. Big 10 would make more money off that fanbase than Mizzou…without driving an extra mile. It’s a done deal.
