I'd suspect when Clemson decides that the lure of the SEC as a "super conference" is too lucrative, the ACC buyouts will be tough to collect also....... though I imagine Duke and Virginia have way better lawyers than Oklahoma State.OU and Texas are either going to push the issue and see if others also bolt, thus negating the deal, or they'll simply stand pat until 2025. They aren't going to pay $80 million.
Big 10 easily accepts Iowa State. Would’ve happened eventually regardless of this latest development.I like Matt Campbell at Iowa State and he's been building a little something out there. I assume they'll call the B1G also but I doubt they get in.
It's tough, right now, for the almost, but not quite there programs like BYU, ISU, Boise State, etc.
I can't see where good options are for these guys.
Clemson does not help the SEC TV deal. Clemson will eventually slide back to what they were for the 20 years between Ford and Swinney, which doesn't carry much viewership. Just going off history, they're probably more than halfway through their current streak.Clemson isn't jumping to the SEC. The ACC will get to 16 teams.
I read $70 something mil yesterday…and yes they will. SEC Network haul goes up to at least $60 mil per team and add what CBS or another entity will have to fork out. Most likely never have to touch any of that to pay off the Big 12 tho. There’s a million potential marketing agreements that the big oil dummies would love to write off.OU and Texas are either going to push the issue and see if others also bolt, thus negating the deal, or they'll simply stand pat until 2025. If the B1G gets ND, I don't like the ACC's survival chances. Duke will fade even quicker without Coach K, UNC is trying to become a football school, not a basketball school.Clemson isn't jumping to the SEC. The ACC will get to 16 teams.
Yep if the ACC doesn't get ND then Clemson may bolt just not enough teams out there to make them into a super league..they might try to poach some SEC schools but doubt they get any takersIf the B1G gets ND, I don't like the ACC's survival chances. Even if they get to 16 schools, beyond Clemson, right now, they're pretty useless. Like Texas and Oklahoma....... better to leave the sinking ship with dry feet then wait and swim away.

I don't THINK Baylor is an AAU school which has historically mattered to the B1G. At one time ND wasn't AAU either. I could be wrong but Nebraska....... might not be or have been AAU when they hit the B1G.B10 goes after a TX team, probably Baylor.
Some of the top ACC programs should consider where the college game is headed and what the long term costs/implications are of staying in a 2nd rate conference are. It makes those exit fees seem more palatable.Yep if the ACC doesn't get ND then Clemson may bolt just not enough teams out there to make them into a super league..they might try to poach some SEC schools but doubt they get any takers
