"Let's think about it, guys. Frantz could be coming out so others in his position feel comfortable doing the same, OR it could be part of his plan to build a gay football dynasty in Manhattan, Kansas." Lmao

The section of campus where they will reside in Manhattan shall be known as The Village.

The same ones everyone else does, the ones that have to be shut down for gay rights parades on a consistent basis.

Ok...which city holds those every month? I don't think even San Francisco or Miami. But apparently the city in Alabama you reside in? Sure you didn't see a rainbow sticker on a beer run and exaggerate?

Not bashing the parades or their frequency. I dont care about them either way. What im saying it using fear or retribution as an excuse for not coming out is stupid. While some folks may not agree with the lifestyle (and it will always be that way), there is no mass movement to oppress gay people and keep them in the closet. Their are gay pride parades in every us city. They are hailed as heros for coming out, regardless of their athletic ability (see Michael Sam and the bball player Collins).
So again i say, who cares? This is just another story were we will have endless interviews and stories of a 7th round draft pick that wont make an nfl team.

I think the results of Michael Sam's attempted reality show will serve as a cautionary tale. Things have changed in just these few short years. When the reaction becomes "so what?" en masse, this won't even be reported.

So basically, closeted gay people are stupid, and should just get over any fears and come out already, because coming out as homosexual makes one's life easier, not harder. Is that the point you're making?

Whatever you want to call it. They may have personal fear, no different from people with a host of other issues, but thats a them problem and not a society problem. Most of society has moved on from the issue, except for a group that stands ready to condemn anyonr who doesnt gush over the heroism displayed by a gay person coming out. There will also be people opposed to gay people, just like there are always people opposed to _______ fill in the blank with whatever you want. Nothing new, get over it.

Do you keep winding up in a different city right as its gay pride parade is happening? If you're running into them that often, I'm wondering if this is a little more than coincidence.

I didnt say i was running into them. I said they take place.

Did he announce it kind of confusing? Like the opposite of Mike Piazza where he said "First off uhhhh Im not gay I'm heterosexual"! That long uhhhh made us all think he was hiding something. Did this kid say he is homosexual more convincing?

You talk a hell of a lot about something you claim not to care about.

Do you remember that Piazza announcement? First off was it necessary to announce your preference of who you're attracted to. Then with the announcement delivery it made us feel like we don't buy what you're selling. I just always think of that speech every time someone wants to tell the world about their choices. I meant no ill will to this guy from K-State. :hi:

K-State starting LT Scott Franz publicly divulged he is gay, joining 2017 Arizona signee My-King Johnson (no kidding, My-King Johnson) as the 2nd player to come out publicly this year..Apparently he told the team this last off season, before he told his own family...

Good for him...statistically speaking, there are plenty more...I'm sure some would rather keep it private than announce to the whole world though. :)

A guy comes out and says I am gay and tons of people talk about it. If a guy comes out and says he is straight, its highly likely nobody talks about it.

Just play football and keep your sexual preference to yourself. We dont need to know whether you are gay or straight.

Won't stop until it's a non-event.

Mad? Hardly. I just think this whole coming out thing is just a way of getting attention and nothing else. Why do you have to announce to the world what your sexual preference is? If you're gay, fine. Be gay. Making a public announcement is just pathetic.
