Kate Steinlle's accused killer found not guilty of murder

People find guns all the time. I found a .38 police special on the window sill of a court house restroom into about 1972. I picked it up and turned it in to a judges office. So happens it belonged to the sheriff who was adjusting his uniform and left it there.

If someone not familiar with handguns finds a chambered Glock I can easily see how an accidental discharge could occur.

I'm not defending this guy. I don't know what happened and I am dead set against illegal immigrants. No doubt he shouldn't have been here but it doesn't constitute murder. BTW we can stop illegal immigration without a wall if we really had the will to do so.

Did you point it towards people and put your finger on the trigger? I’m going to guess no.

If a cop pulled his gun and it “just went off” and killed someone in SF, Oakland would be on fire as we speak.

No, but some idiot who never handled a gun might. I'm not defending the guy. I don't see how there is no culpability here, but haven't seen all evidence. I'm just saying people who don't know handguns could easily accidentally discharge one especially a striker fired auto without a safety.

And what we have here is the first known case of a gun shooting someone by itself. Damn libtards were right after all.

Just think, if he wasn’t here there’d be no gun to “accidentally discharge”. But hey, I blame this on Obama’s sanctuary city fiasco. Guess you can say Obama has blood on his hands.

I haven't gone over the case in detail, but what does his immigration status have to do with whether he committed this murder or not?

The evidence exists outside of the context of being an illegal immigrant.

I guess the idea is if he hadn’t re-entered this country and if SFPD hadn’t released him into the wild he’s not there to pick up the magical homicidal gun that killed this girl.

Sure. So if he was never here he would not have even been a suspect. I think that's stating the obvious. The same way that I wouldn't be a suspect if there was a murder in San Francisco and I was in Florida.

Not sure how this relates to guilt.

Negative. Not even close. I’ve identified your issue.

You’re ignorant.

I don’t see how you can negligently fire a gun that kills a person and not at least be found guilty of manslaughter or reckless endangerment.

For wondering what his immigration status has to do with the evidence in this murder case?

If he's guilty, lock his ass up forever. If he's not.. then What? Punish him because he was a suspect?

You're becoming unhinged, Tums.

For the bold, DF.

Of course he’s guilty. Read his excuse they bought.

Seems like your beef is that the evidence points to his guilt but the prosecution/courts ****ed it up.

I can appreciate that view.

But, I'm sure you think that Judge Roy Moore and Greg Schiano are guilty.

I've heard the accusers. I've heard and read accounts of his prowling for teen girls at the mall. Like many Republicans, I find their claims authentic and have no reason to doubt them.

We'll see if Republicans care more about just winning than who it is they win with.

How much of the evidence did you hear?

(We know -- none of it)

We don’t gotta hear evidence to know a gun “just fires”, you all may call conservative minded folks uneducated, but we’re not stupid. Too bad California is what it is, or Kate’s Dad could’ve been carrying, and taken care of him when he shot his daughter. I hate this phrase, but sorry not sorry.

He's probably guilty. But probably isn't good enough.

he had a GUN. funny how fast you get limp wristed on gun crime when its an illegal. Coming from someone who has called anyone who owns a gun a killer and culpable to all gun crime you have flipped really fast here.

Guns don't "just go off". he pulled the trigger, he is guilty. Doesn't matter if he didn't know what he was doing, he is an adult and should be punished.

Speaking of “flipping really fast,” tons of Republicans who have been scoffing at the idea of bias in our criminal justice system are now claiming exactly that.
