If grandparents don't count, it would have be irrelevant for the article.

So back to you. Regardless, you're moving the goalposts. Kavanaugh's claim was he had no "connection" to Yale. He did. That claim was absolutely false, and unless he didn't know where his grandfather attended school, it was knowingly false and made under oath.
