Kavanaugh Confirmation

I agree that you don't only look at that day but that day is relevant. I also agree that it doesn't outweigh the work he has done as a judge.
The day held more relevance because it was either going to lend more credibility to Fords claims or K would walk away with more vindication. The later happened because the Ds have shifted to this new lame idea because the original didnt stick.

The circus side show was a joke after watching the softballs and hero worship the hours before.

His temperament at the hearing has no negative impact on my opinion of him. His family received death threats over this incredibly weak accusation and democratic senators have pounded the table as if we had video proof. He was more tame than I would have been over such ******** being toted out like it's the damn Salem witch trial rules.

This whole charade has been an embarrassment to this country and anyone who supports the left's reaction is a tunnel visioned twat that is frankly too stupid to be allowed to speak on SCOTUS qualification.

We already have historical lessons on how utterly FOOLISH this line of thinking is and how embarrassing it is in hindsight. Read a ****ing book.

When Notorious R.B.G. exhausts her appointment, however that happens, the pandemonium when Amy Barrett is appointed will make this episode look amicable. How does the left plan to approach a conservative female appointee? Women’s rights? Ouch.

I’ve said before, I am generally in agreement with the SC being ideologically centrist, but after this BS, I hope all rulings favorable to the left are thwarted for a generation, or more.

Liberals are completely unhinged and crucking fazy! They deserve everything that’s coming to them, which will gradiently culminate with this confirmation (and hopefully another), the midterms and Trump’s second term.

Murkowski and Collins being politicians. That’s fine that’s what they are. On that same token the other 48 (screw Flake) need to give them their biscuit while also pointing out what biscuits they will lose if they vote no. Nothing more than DC being DC.

One of the real reasons the Democrats are so upset is they didn't think it would get this far based on past Republican behavior.

In the past if the Dems/Libs brought allegations like this against a Conservative up for an appointed position by the Republican President the President would have probably pulled his nomination or the nominee would have pulled his name on his own to not go through the storm like JBK did. They wouldn't have got to the point of having to find witnesses etc.. for a hearing as they would have backed away on just the accusation.

They still haven't learned that Trump is not your old school Republican he isn't going back down and if they push back on him he will come right back at you with a left hook. They also didn't see it coming that Judge BK would be the same way instead of pulling his name he fought them hard and threw the accusations back in their face.

This went way beyond DC being DC...

Pretty sure this isn't what the founding fathers envisioned. It's pathetic.

Contraire my friend....that is exactly what the FF intended. Unfortunately unfettered federalism and a massive access to money and power beyond what was desired got in the way.

Perhaps had the Democrats asked more principle type questions rather than jumping to conclusions and calling him a rapist he might have actually been able to show them.

The man elevated himself to the SCOTUS because he finally just had enough. He reached the same point more than a few of us reached days prior.

Good. For. Him.

No.

The "what goes around comes around" comment was particularly inappropriate. He should not be threatening people politically.

Hopefully, they will have control of the Senate and can block it.

Uh huh. Like your fellow mouth breathers already threatening impeachment?

Just admit your party is out of control and this gets easier.

NOT.GONNA.HAPPEN!

Cruz will hold Texas. Blackburn will handle Bredesen. Heitkamp is trailing, and big(ly?). Others that favor the GOP are in play. We have the voting cycle and the left’s antics in our favor.

Good luck!

The only two Supreme Court nominees to pull their nomination since 1980 are Douglas Ginsburg in 1987 who withdrew due to his admission that he used to smoke marijuana and Harriet Miers in 2005 and she withdrew due to objections from Republicans on the Judiciary Committee who felt she was unqualified. Robert Bork got a vote.

You see Senator Flake, this is how you handle political activists screaming at you as you’re getting on an elevator:

Someone get me Orrin Hatch’s address. I need to send him something

It’s hard to believe with the liberal protesters , Antifa , the media , huge mega donors , and Trump haters galore , they still manage to screw up on national TV so bad it’s turning voters against them right before mid terms . How is that even possible without being myopic and out of control ?

I disagree. Bredesen will beat Blackburn... but the map looks much more favorable for Democrats in 2020 anyway - and of course, Trump could lose. RBG says she is in good health. I know you guys are praying against her... but maybe she can hold on.
