There are 1000s in the media and in the general population that don't question the validity of Dr. Ford's account at all. That despite zero corroboration that there was even a party, not to mention a party in which both were present. Despite her own admission that she doesn't know how she got there, how she got home, where the party was, when the party was. Even her own witnesses say they don't have any memory of the event.I honestly think that most are simply caught in their own confirmation bias. They're more inclined to believe the accusations because it fits their internal narrative. Happens on both sides in many scenarios. Sure, there are some pot-stirrers that are trying to ramp up the rhetoric, but I'm sure there are legit victims of sexual assault that saw themselves in Ford and are truly appalled by the prospect of the person she described being on SCOTUS. Now, I'm not saying he's guilty or that this wasn't a fiasco. I'm just saying not everyone who is critical of Kavanaugh is a liberal hooligan participating in a conspiracy.
I ask all that believes this was appropriate, what if this was your dad, your son, your brother, what if they were in a similar situation, would you automatically believe the accuser? Assassinating a man's character over political differences is despicable. If the shoe was on the other foot I would be calling out the Republicans for the same stuff.
If I were a democrat I would be embarrassed at the underhanded scorched Earth politics of my party, same if it were a republican.
