Kavanaugh Confirmation

If you include CNN for factual reporting why wouldn't you include Fox for factual reporting? Catherine Herrige (sp?) and Jennifer Griffin have both broken big stories that other news agencies have confirmed.

The New Yorker? The Atlantic? Surprised you didn't include Vox, Slate and Salon.
And he conveniently ignored the WSJ. Who’s editorial board is on record saying confirm.

Regardless as someone indicated they really should be more worried about reporting the news than being the news.

He was under personal attack.... very personal and regardless of his experience the whole country was watching.... including his children. He's only human dude.....trust me when I say this..... it's very hard to bite your tounge and remain calm under those circumstances. I knew what I was in for and knew it wasn't personal, but it still pissed me off...
I can understand that and it shouldn't be disqualifying.

I think NPR gets a bad rap from conservatives because they are "too nice" and feature human interest stories directly related to topics of the news day. I don't mean this in a negative way, but the majority of conservatives I know (including the vast, vast majority of this board) tend to gravitate toward more combative, impersonal news stories and sources. NPR, although one of the premier sources of news in the world, just doesn't fit the "style" of conservatives.

my twist on this is I find their story telling to be almost consistently from the perspective of "the little guy". Nothing wrong with giving that person a voice but there's too much "corporations bad, townsperson we talked to good". It's reporting from one point of view even though the real story has more than one side.

Conservatives are combative? Lmao

Heitkamp maybe although she’s behind double digits in her re-election, has said a day ago she is a NO.
She isn't going to win reelection, so no surprise she voted with the party. So who is the other Democrat to get to 53? I can't think of one, unless it is McCaskill?

Fox News is an entertainment network. Nothing more.

I hope everyone of these liberals that approve of this **** show get falsely accused and get put on public display and forced to prove there innocence all on unprovable claims and see how they behave.
I honestly think that most are simply caught in their own confirmation bias. They're more inclined to believe the accusations because it fits their internal narrative. Happens on both sides in many scenarios. Sure, there are some pot-stirrers that are trying to ramp up the rhetoric, but I'm sure there are legit victims of sexual assault that saw themselves in Ford and are truly appalled by the prospect of the person she described being on SCOTUS. Now, I'm not saying he's guilty or that this wasn't a fiasco. I'm just saying not everyone who is critical of Kavanaugh is a liberal hooligan participating in a conspiracy.

Fair point, I can't really disagree with that. But I can't tell you how many times I hear, "we tried to contact person or company, and they refused to comment" during the course of the day. So that is on them/company.

This is an easier said than done type situation. This time a week ago I would have agreed with you, but I was subpoenaed to testify In a work related hearing regarding a large claim that occurred over three years ago. When I was cross examined the attorney's lone tactic was to try and discredit me and my testimony. He tried to smear me and call me a liar for over an hour. I can see how Kavanaugh could have moments of frustration despite his judicial experience.
If I ever see that rat bastard again I'm going to tell him what a no good POS he is.
I had a similar experience while testifying for an HOA, and that was after I had moved out of the neighborhood 2 or 3 years prior. The HOA was suing someone for breaking rules, and the defendant named me as someone who had broken restrictions by having my garage at a 45 degree angle to the house, instead of a 90 or in the back.

The HOA attorney asked me to testify, which I did voluntarily. I had submitted plans to the developer, and had the garage approved due to the lay of the land. I had told the defendant that several years earlier, when she threatened to sue me for breaking restrictions. I directed her to call the developer who okayed the plan. From my understanding, she did just that, but still named me as a restriction breaker years later. I made her and her a-hole attorney look like fools after the lawyer called me a liar, etc. That kind of crap is why I will never live in an HOA again.

No more than CNN - they do actual reporting and have been on top of any number of stories that have later been confirmed.
So has CNN, WaPO, the NYT, and a host of others. Fox News is entertainment and a propaganda arm of the Republican party. Dump Hannity, Tucker, and all the other idiots off the network and I might consider taking them seriously.

* conscience.

Guess we have to do this again.

Conscience. The voice inside you that tells you something is immoral.

Conscious. Awake. Period. Not asleep.

Little more simplified than last time. I have a GED by the way. (Full disclosure, scored 12oo on the sat in 7th grade, part pf the TIP program. Kids happen)
