He was under personal attack.... very personal and regardless of his experience the whole country was watching.... including his children. He's only human dude.....trust me when I say this..... it's very hard to bite your tounge and remain calm under those circumstances. I knew what I was in for and knew it wasn't personal, but it still pissed me off...I can understand that from the vantage point of the average person in an unfamiliar circumstance. This was a nominee for the Supreme Court in a Senate hearing he had been prepped for by White House lawyers. I don't think it's disqualifying but it is relevant. It looks like Kavanaugh realizes that he had some missteps during that hearing and has tried to clean it up with a column of his own. He admitted he said some things he shouldn't have and tried to emphasize that he would be impartial. That is as close to an admission as you will get that he should not have invoked the Clintons and the 2016 election or made attacks against Democrats in the process of defending himself. My guess is, he will be confirmed after the holdouts (Flake, Collins and Murkowski) have sufficiently covered themselves with empathy for sexual assault accusers and expressed respect for Dr. Ford.
WaPo, NY Times, Economist, BBC, PBS, Reuters, AP, NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN (for basic factual reporting) The New Yorker, McClatchy, The Atlantic, politico, the Hill ....
If you include CNN for factual reporting why wouldn't you include Fox for factual reporting? Catherine Herrige (sp?) and Jennifer Griffin have both broken big stories that other news agencies have confirmed.
The New Yorker? The Atlantic? Surprised you didn't include Vox, Slate and Salon.
I think NPR gets a bad rap from conservatives because they are "too nice" and feature human interest stories directly related to topics of the news day. I don't mean this in a negative way, but the majority of conservatives I know (including the vast, vast majority of this board) tend to gravitate toward more combative, impersonal news stories and sources. NPR, although one of the premier sources of news in the world, just doesn't fit the "style" of conservatives.Agree. Although NPR can be a little wishy washy sometimes. But typically, they are solid.
