Any married couple earning less than $110,000 per year qualifies for the full child tax credit. Why not remove it entirely? No more handouts for having kids.
Yep, I'm sure the credit is less. But welfare is welfare, regardless of bracket. The majority of people using the child tax credit won't pay federal taxes anyways due to income, so it is effectively a government handout.I stand corrected. :hat tip:
Still. Srsly?
Doesn’t that pale in comparison to an annualized welfare payout?
Might get some Evangelicals riled up with that line of thinking. Also, blue states and blue cities have higher wages for cost of living. Look at Hog encouraging a Liberal baby boom.I agree, either eliminate it all together or adjust the income level to only those making above $110k get it. Need to discourage poor people from having kids.
I'm not against a blanket consumer tax and I mean a blanket one. not some bulls*** alcohol or sweets or soda gets extra tax bs. But would this take place of just income tax? what about property tax? what happens with state and local tax revenues ?I’ve always been a fan of a National sales tax.
Everyone pays.
