Keenan Pili Injured?

Bummer for him, but Herring and Carter should be able to handle it.

Also Heup drives me crazy with that couple of weeks crap.

“We weren’t sure early in the week the severity of the injury,” Tennessee coach Josh Heupel said on the SEC Teleconference Wednesday morning. “He will not be available this week. He’ll miss a couple weeks here.”
Heupel was asked if it’s a short-term injury or if Pili will out an extended period of time.
“I don’t believe it’s season ending at this point,” Heupel said. “We’ll see how he continues to heal up in the coming days and weeks.”

Reading between the lines, I bet he misses several games (5-6 weeks).

Heupel starts off by saying "a couple" but then goes on to say "not season-ending." Why mention anything about it not being season-ending if he's out just 2 games? He'll be gone the bulk of the season - maybe he can be back for UGA.

The injury sucks but UT is in a much better position with LB depth this year compared to last season. Carter and Herring were both going to get playing time regardless. Now they will be getting much more.

Injuries suck. I know we’re not the only team that deals with it but losing Tillman early in Game 3 last year blew, and now we’re losing a starting LB in Game 1. I just hope we can manage to stay mostly healthy this year. I want to see what this team can do with a clean bill of health.
