One poor season does not a bad coach make. He was up front at the beginning of the season that his expectations for this year were lower than his previous teams, so why all the naysayers? I supposed we should also be dissing Summitt as well for her lowest NCAA seed ever.

Give Pearl a few more years. This quick turnaround coaching world is pathetic.

No, Pearl's got to go. Four straight years of not going to the Elite Eight? Are you kidding me? He's a mediocre D3 coach at best.

Yeah, if you look at the coaching records of the major coaches in the league today that have only been coaching a team for around 10 years or less (like Self or Calipari) you see they had some up and down years...oh wait...no they didnt.

Pearl is an awful coach and deserves to be back on that boat trying to score 18 year old girls again.

He didn't have a poor season. They played well at times. Hard team to get a handle on. Pearl had a bad day today. The problem is today is the first round of the NCAA. We need better basketball players not a new coach. This is a team game. These players don't understand that.

I want to keep him but let's be honest....this team had some glaring problems this year that were exposed early and he never fixed them. If 3 years from now we're still getting beat like a drum by inferior Kentucky teams and losing the same way, then there will be some problems. And you can scream "AT LEAST IT'S NOT BUZZ" all you want, that crap isn't going to work forever.

Dude. Pearl is a member of one of the many famous JEwish gangs in Knoxville. Why would we want him coaching our team????

To be perfectly fair, Cal has had a 15 and 16 loss season at Memphis.

He wont be fired.

What bothers me though is that enough bad buzz/blood came up from the fanbase that he made some comment about it during an interview. That's worrisome

yeah making the tourney every year is a real disappointment. I wish we could go back in time to the good ole days of waiting for football every year. why would we get rid of him. more likely he leaves for a more realistic basketball situation
