CMM did not commit to IU until April 2020.

For some reason, Kellie can't coach her teams to win against ranked teams. Seven or eight of the LVs nine losses came to ranked teams. Ole Miss came within a heartbeat of defeating South Carolina. The LVs defeated Ole Miss by 14. Yet, the LVs will lose big against SC, probably by 15 or more points. Go figure, something is wrong.

Biggest benchmark game of the year for Kellie. If the game goes as expected it will have more calling for a change in leadership. Dawn will have no issues embarrassing Tennessee on our home court to show the now verses the past.

One thing she does is break her team's momentum with her substitutions and we are not good enough to overcome that against the better teams. It is harmful against lesser teams too since basketball is nothing if not a game of runs and of the chemistry of your lineup. But we have enough of a talent advantage to overcome the coaching decisions against lesser teams.

At least she has been playing some zone lately and gotten good results with it instead of just handing out flags and having our guards wave them as the opponents go by them. This is not a good defensive team so they need to use every tool in the box.

Why would you think you know what is in Kellie’s mind when she is subbing? Can we not all acknowledge that Kellie and everyone on her staff are significantly more knowledgeable about basketball than anyone on any fan site. Maybe she has not shared publicly all the reasons why she subs as she does but it is ludicrous to infer she has no purpose in how she subs.

CJ you know I think you know a lot and I always enjoy your insights. But, two things:
You did not say you know more about substituting than Kellie. You said she had no subbing plan, just subbed to be subbing. You may disagree with her method or plan but I feel confident she doesn’t draw player’s numbers out of a hat for substitution purposes. Additionally she sees these players everyday for several hours. The information she has that no one on here is privy to would certainly give her a leg up on knowing how best to rotate her players.
I believe generally in the efficient market theory. While this theory is typically applied to portfolio theory, investments etc., I do think it has some applicability to other fields. My point being someone being paid over a million dollars a year is probably near the top of their field. Not perfect, not without professional quirks but let’s say top 1-2% in their field. There are frauds for sure but they have usually been ferreted out well before 20 years. Particularly in a field like WBB where results are readily apparent. I am guessing that no one on this board makes 10% of what Kellie makes doing anything basketball related consequently I would tend to go witt Kellie’s expertise/knowledge of the players on setting a subbing plan.
20 years vs 40 years is not relevant if the 20 years is spent with broader experiences and progressively more responsibility.
Just another way of looking at it.

Totally agree. Plus 13 (probably) SEC wins. But the snake in the grass is zero recruits (so far) and an absolutely dismal outlook for next year. Absent another boffo portal haul or some unexpected returns, I'm afraid the seat gets hot next year.

You HAVE to count tournaments. Postseason matters, and Sweet 16 should be the bare minimum for this team. If Kellie can't take a team with two high WNBA draft picks past the first weekend, the heat will (and should) really turn up heading into year 5 IMO.

Conversely, if Kellie shocks the world and actually took this team to the Final Four do you think anyone would really care if they finished the regular season 21-10?
