WRs aren't being developed under him. In fact it seems a lot of receivers not named Hyatt regress as the years go on.

Bru - has been mostly absent all year. Caught his first TD pass against vandy

Squirrel - used to be one of the best on the team now just isn't...and we can say he's been battling injury but that's just a cope.

Keyton - he went from being one of the best to not being able to compete in an off-season.

Kelsey Pope has not shown the ability to actually develop WRs. He needs to be shown the door.

Is Kelsey Pope throwing the ball? Are you still drunk? Some of yall need to sober up and head to a house of worship, or read the news. There's a lot of crap happening in the world that you can focus on. Christmas is 3 days away, go buy something for those less fortunate.

I said this a few weeks ago- Heupel seems to be coaching with his B team. Hazle, Pope, and Martinez have been this teams weak spot the past 2 years

That's not an argument. Kelsey Pope is supposed to be developing these WRs. They clearly aren't. Their route running isn't working. Their hands aren't getting better. They're aren't improving.

Where was Matthews in this game? Why can't our WRs get some separation? Why can't they find holes in a zone? What happened to Brazzel? Why did McCoy get only 1 TD catch all season? WRs grossly underperformed this year and Pope has to be held accountable.

Ehhh I credit McCoy being an absolute dog. It seemed like Gibson regressed. Teams picked on him more. I think if the WRs struggle next year White will need to force Heupel’s hand. In my opinion him and Hazle just not on the same page

Which is good that they get the reality check this year when we overachieved expectations. Next year will be more difficult and they best elevate their coaching along with their talent development.

We all saw games this year where squirrel was literally trying to play/catch with one arm. The fact that we haven’t developed anyone on our roster to where they’re not a better option than that is an indictment of the position coach.
The fact that in year 4 we don’t have a single linemen who we recruited play over former walk ons is an indictment on the position coach.

I sure would rather complain about aspects of a 10 win season that I think we should address over wishing my head coach didn’t wear a checkerboard gator on his head during a 3 win season.

GoVols!! On to 2025

That's a false dichotomy and you know it. I can look at where we are and be thankful but also know the current cast can only get us so far.

Josh huepel brought us out of the captivity of the past 15 years this is true but if we aren't careful he will also have us wandering in the wilderness because at least that's better than the captivity was.

100% correct on those two. Everyone else on the coaching staff should be on the table even including Heupel if he does not make some desperately needed changes. But probably none of that will happen - Heupel is probably safe no matter what he does at least for a while because of D White who is the best AD in the country. But it's sad because Heupel will probably end up getting fired eventually for staying too loyal to his staff even when they don't deserve it.

It’s not a false dichotomy, I’m agreeing with you. I would just rather bitch about a 10 win team than a 3 win team. I don’t believe anyone is satisfied with 42-17. We want championships.

I think a lot of WR production and excellence can be attributed to Hendon Hooker. That’s not an indictment to coaching staff, or the individual receiver’s ability, but Hooker just made everyone better. He had a bit of the Manning effect. I, for one, just didn’t realize the greatness of Hooker, and how he made everyone excel, until he was gone.
