Kelsey Pope

Brazzel was one of the biggest gets in the portal this year and he hasn’t been developed at all. Seems to be a step behind and gets lost on the field.

That seems to be squarely on development and coaching rather than we struck out on the guy.

It’s not a false dichotomy, I’m agreeing with you. I would just rather bitch about a 10 win team than a 3 win team. I don’t believe anyone is satisfied with 42-17. We want championships.
I'm sorry I misunderstood. Too many people saying we should be happy with 10 wins in a favorable SEC schedule. Next year we will be lucky to sniff 8.

WRs aren't being developed under him. In fact it seems a lot of receivers not named Hyatt regress as the years go on.

Bru - has been mostly absent all year. Caught his first TD pass against vandy

Squirrel - used to be one of the best on the team now just isn't...and we can say he's been battling injury but that's just a cope.

Keyton - he went from being one of the best to not being able to compete in an off-season.

Kelsey Pope has not shown the ability to actually develop WRs. He needs to be shown the door.
Wide Receivers get a D grade on the year.

Where was Matthews in this game? Why can't our WRs get some separation? Why can't they find holes in a zone? What happened to Brazzel? Why did McCoy get only 1 TD catch all season? WRs grossly underperformed this year and Pope has to be held accountable.
You have got to have a QB that can throw the ball on target.

Nico clearly got better as the year went on. He's being developed. The same can't be said for the group of WRs that can't get separation, can't catch the ball when it's in their hands 2 years running now, can't reach out for balls and dive for balls. Nico had his issues but he's not THE issue.

Our WRs just aren't very good. OSU had 3 WRs better than anybody we had off of talent alone. Maybe Mike Matthews will be ready to change that next year.

Do you trust Kelsey Pope to develop him? I don't. Brazzell and Thornton are both supposed to be studs. Kelsey Pope has squandered that.
I don't know that I trust Mathews to not transfer. I agree with several of you all that Hazle doesn't seem to be a good fit at OC. Same for Martinez and Pope, and might even need to throw Ellerbe in the mix as well. Heupel really needs to do a deep evaluation on nearly all of the staff and make some moves. Spinning our wheels right now.

Idk if I do or not. But if you watch Elite WRs and watch those 2 and think they have the same athletic ability idk what to tell you. We don't have any elite WRs right now. I think Matthews has potential to be one.

I've been sounding the alarm for awhile now as well. I thought Heupel put a fine staff together considering the mess we were in but it's time to upgrade in several spots.
Coach has shown he can change his offense around to help mask the deficiencies this year. Let's see if he is so driven to win he makes several changes this year. Nico will be fine. They're losing a lot of experience and probably will take a step back next year. Might as well start over in some areas to gear up for a big run in Nico's 3rd and possibly final starting season.

It's essentially the same schedule? Syracuse instead of NC State, but their without their QB who led the nation in passing. Vanderbilt, Arkansas and OU at home, Kentucky and Miss State on the road. Should be favored in all of those. It really comes down to @ Florida, @ Bama, and Georgia at home. Have to win at least 1 of those.

Road games are harder.

miss St Will be harder in Starkville especially due to those damn cowbells. The swamp is the swamp and Bryant Denny will be ready for revenge. Georgia is gonna dog walk us again.

Mississippi state is still a mess. We beat Vanderbilt and OU on the road, and they certainly won't be as good as either of those teams. They lost their QB as well.

I'm not so sure on Georgia, they'll have a new QB as well, plus it's at home. Should be a good game.

Vandy is never a road game. OU they were extra juiced because storyline and OU Was In an identity crisis.
