WRs aren't being developed under him. In fact it seems a lot of receivers not named Hyatt regress as the years go on.

Bru - has been mostly absent all year. Caught his first TD pass against vandy

Squirrel - used to be one of the best on the team now just isn't...and we can say he's been battling injury but that's just a cope.

Keyton - he went from being one of the best to not being able to compete in an off-season.

Kelsey Pope has not shown the ability to actually develop WRs. He needs to be shown the door.
I hope he and Elarbee are both shown the exit door

I have been level headed all year and last year defended Joe regularly. If you don't see the blatant issues we have in coaching at certain positions that's on you.
Lack of coaching was on full display last night. Look at the difference in route running by OSU and then look at us. Sure they have really good players, but so do we. Our guys are simply just not well coached.

Really? Despite the dismal showing in Columbus, I see that the UT has crawled out of better than a decade of wallowing in a cesspool. I see that despite not being complete cleaned of the muck, we aren't crawling in it anymore. I see that we aren't quite where we want to be, but we're getting their in fits and starts. I see that along the way, we will stumble, even fall down from time to time, but still trucking. I see that we're coming, and sooner things like you realize. I'm a Vols fan, I don't give up on my team, or soil my pants if/whenever they hiccup. GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its not a hiccup when for 2 years OL has not been very good, players are not developing and our WR's are getting worse. Go get better coaches who can evaluate talent and teach them to be their best. Championships. We have crawled out of a hole. It was deep, we are competitive on most days. Last night all you had to do was look at OSU and their WR'S. Sure they have NFL talent, but our 5th year beast wr had 1 catch maybe 2. It ain't the qb all the time. We need better teachers

We are better sure but this is the ceiling with the current cast of characters. I keep using this analogy because it's a good one. We as volnation have been captivity in the 2010s. Josh huepel freed us from that captivity and brought us on a journey to the promised land. We are now at a crossroads. Will Josh realize what needs to happen and be the one to deliver us to the promised land? We sit at the precipice of it now or will he lead us to wander in the wilderness? Will we need ironically a Joshua to his Moses?

I do understand you, I just have a rigid faith in our guys. So, you go that way, and I'll go this way.

Do you think we can hire a better OL coach ? How about a WR coach ? Brian Hartline is the best in CFB it is evident by the product he puts on the field. He has a model that he looks for and knows how to help them reach their peak. Pope may be a great guy but he isn't helping his guys be their best.

There is a big reason why Nico was the only player who did much of anything last night. His pocket was continually under siege, and he couldn't find anyone to throw to. As the cameras panned the field, I couldn't see anyone he could throw to that wasn't under heavy coverage. His targets were all well covered throughout the night so that our best and only reliable offensive play was Nico escaping the pocket and making some yards on his own. Although Nico struggles with quick reaction and decisions at times, he has most certainly been deprived of support from his OL, receivers, and HC calling the plays.

We have seen this often when we have seen this offense go in the deep freeze and scoreless through several quarters. Where are our WRs? Where are the high rated 4/5 stars receivers we recruited under Heupel? We've spent the majority of the year pecking away at short sideline quick outs and short passes often short of the 1st down marker. We barely have a passing game. Certainly, the OLine hampers the passing game, but it appears that's a perennial problem that will never be addressed no matter how many OL we recruit.

Well, the UT didn't hire you or me to make those decisions. So, I'll wait and see what they decide and do. Much as I love our Vols, they are not a life or death issue for me.

O-line has been our biggest issue in my opinion , pass blocking in particular . An issue I see on the other side of the ball . That I haven't seen mentioned in this thread , our LB's often get lost in coverage .

I love UT also, no it isn't my life either. However I am a fan of everything UT and I can see the writing on the wall with some of our staff. Love Heupel but he is going to have to make some changes in this staff if he wants to win it all.

I'm willing to give LBs a bit of a pass. They looked different before pili went down. Under him is a lot of inexperience. We will see what an off-season does for them when telander js the guy from the beginning.

That's how you get Mark Richt instead of Kirby smart.
You know, coaching hires are like sot machines. You can hit once in a while, but miss a lot of times. I know this because I've seen the rise and fall of of Bobby Bowden, Joe Paterno, Tom Osborne, Woody Hayes, man, even Vince Lombardi. Slot machines, you hit, you miss, you rise, you fall..

That makes sense, and is well articulated. Not expressed in a panic mode of, we're all gonna die manner.

Huepel is a good coach. It's too early to tell if these a great coach but he can start showing us he is by getting rid of the dead weight that's holding the team down in ellarbee, Pope and Martinez.

On top of that Danny White has got to start working with the boosters and spyre. We started ahead of the curve with spyre and now we are lagging behind.
