Kenbrell Thompkins DEcommits

Said it yourself, they were the major attraction, well Monte anyway, but they weren't going into a house in alabama and closing the deal...nobody would buy that wrecked lexus! All that bunch cared about was having a # 1 signing class, when they realized they couldn't deliever, they got yellow and ran. Makes ya appreciate what Fulmer, majors and Battle were up against.

You have no clue what you are talking about. Monte went into tons of homes to close the deal on kids. So did Lane. They both recruited all over the place. Don't spew these lies when you don't have a clue what you're talking about. It is well documented how much they were both on the road. Kiffin left b/c he got offered a better job that was also his dream job. Simple as that.

Tons...really??? What will be well documented is a lifestyle inconsistent with your presentation of events. However, you are right he got a BETTER JOB. That's why as many people turned it down.

Simms and Thompkins both SIGNED a LOI before Christmas.

THANK YOU!!!!!! PPL, at least look before you shoot yourselves. For the last time, the two JUCO guys signed LOI's and at least 4 of the EE's are bound to UT. So they have at least 6-10 guys that are VOLS for certain.

I don't know if you're referring to people turning down the UT job or the USC job. Either way, USC is clearly the better job, especially for Kiffin. It's tons easier to recruit there and it's in a much easier conference. Hence, it is easier to make BCS and national championship games.

And yes, Monte and Kiffin spent PLENTY of time on the road. The entire staff did. Believe whatever you want, but the truth is that they were all obsessive recruiters.

we know they signed LOIs
KT is not going to be here. he has 3 yrs to play 2.

All I'll say is this...It should be easier to recruit there, but they are over. If Kiffin doesn't win 10 games next year he is a failure. They are loaded, you can't run off the field and say, we just need more players, gimmie a break. What Markieth Ambles needs to worry about is beatin out the USC depth chart, AFTER they get put on NCAA sanctions. 2 yrs. from now those guys will be selling used surfboards in San Diego. The 3 Dumbegos are over. Pete Carroll is gone. sorry, sorry, sorry,i feel bad, sorry.

Win 10 games or he's a failure? Later, you act like losing Pete Carroll was a make or break deal for USC. You might want to know that Carroll "only" won 9 games this year.

You are just rambling. You're either drunk, uninformed, or both.

Sorry, if Kiffin doesn't win double digit games next year what will the excuse be? Here it was lack of talent/depth. Just curious.

I'm sure Kiffin will consider anything less than a national championship to be a failure. I personally wouldn't view it that way. The 2005 USC team was one of the most talented teams ever, and they still didn't win it all. Sometimes things just happen. But, my point is that he's walking into a much better situation out there (aside from possible sanctions that I don't think will be much more than a slap on the wrist), and it will not be near as difficult to continue the momentum that Carroll started. He will have top 5 classes every year without much trouble. He will win 10 games consistently and make multiple BCS bowls.

Could he have done the same thing here? I don't think so. At least not at the same consistent level that he can at USC. He could've been successful, but the SEC is too tough. It would've been much more difficult to stay above or on par with UF and Bama every single year.

Yes 10-2 will be a failure at USC. They didn't hire him to go 10-2. The talent pool is full, he has no excuses. This is my hope for him, to fail. This is a huge stop for him. People can write off the Raiders job as just being the Raiders. They can say he did not spend enough time at UT to know if he would have done better. But USC is it. Dude better win big.

Okay, guys on TOS are saying Thompkins didn't graduate from the JUCO until May. Simms graduated in December. This means he cannot sign an LOI, he would simply enroll here in May and if that's true he can commit to playing football for whomever he wants and retain his 3 years to play 2 at any school.

that makes 0 sense to me...

Basically you can't sign an LOI until you've graduated in junior college. Simms graduated in December, but Thompkins doesn't graduate until May so he's not bound by it. He can commit elsewhere without penalty. This doesn't apply to HS kids, they either early enroll or sign an LOI on Signing Day.

if he doesnt plan to graduate until may, how the hell was he about to start classes at UT last wednesday? i thought he was considered part of the EE's?

He may have been here on some sort of visit recently, but he apparently has not graduated the JUCO yet, and was not starting class last week. Only Simms of the JUCOs had already graduated and was starting class.

yeah this isnt making much sense at all. either way i dont care, if he doesnt want the vols, we dont want him.

Scout does not have him on our commit list but TOS has him as alreading signing a LOI with Tennessee

Isn't it different for JuCo's? Once they signed that LOI, they aren't locked in?

As mentioned, Thompkins didn't sign an LOI, only Simms did. He hasn't graduated JUCO yet. Scout/Rivals just puts JUCOs as signings without really checking the facts of the matter.

He didn't participate in any practices like Milton, Bray, etc.

Man I was really looking forward to watching this kid. He's a great athlete and it's a shame that he's made that decision. Hopefully, CDD can lure this kid back.
