Kendrick Hardy '09 RB

I think Lacy doesnt make the grade. I think Oku lands in Auburn. I think Hardesty gets hurt. I think Creer cant hold onto the ball. I think we dont know what Poole can do over an entire season. That's why I think we need him. Dont get me wrong, I love TW, but he sometimes strikes me as a MLB.

That might be the most pessimistic post I've ever seen

Sorry: TW? MLB?

over my head.

Rex, the sky isn't falling. Relax.

Ouch, if this is indeed the case.

I got something to say about Hardy after watching his highlight videos.

Unfair or not, Hardy is the next Arien Foster.

He hardly ever runs between the tackles. Most of his carries are sweeps to the side. Now, that being said, he appears to be faster than Foster and is more highly rated than Foster was out of highschool. Not dissing either of them. Foster had some very good games and if Hardy could be more consistent than Foster was, then he could be utilized in our offense since Foster is gone.

Oku is the fast, illusive scat back, big playmaker.
Toney Williams, runs like a bulldozer and picks up large chunks .
Taureen Poole, short down and goaline
Hardesty, the work horse
Creer, playmaker, every down back
Hardy, Arien Foster without the fumbles hopefully

Just my take but even a blind man can see the comparisions. Regardless, UT would be deep at RB with all 6 bringing something different to the run game.

I'm gonna have to disagree with you. I just watched his first highlight video and most of his runs were straight up the gut or off tackle. He has way better speed than Foster and makes quicker cuts than Foster.

First off, I think we will land Hardy and Lacy but lose Oku.

I do think Rex makes a good point about the necessity of landing Hardy. The fact is Lacy is most likely JUCO bound and Hardesty has always been injury prone. Even if Creer steps it up this year which I think he will, we still need someone else. Hardy is going to be a very solid running back. I think we need him.

Creer should have been starting, he single handedly took UT on its best drive last year. Fulmer just had a love affair with the upperclassmen. Not just last year, but every year.

He sure did great when he started against Wyoming. We won that game, right?

[/BOne of those schools is Southern Miss, which looked liked it was going to pull in its second consecutive stellar class, but is finding some of its top prospects poached by the SEC. One of those prospects could be running back Kendrick Hardy, who's developed a bit of a mancrush on Lane Kiffin in Tennessee. After committing to the Golden Eagles earlier this month, Hardy now says he'll make his final decision on signing day.

says watson from espn.

Hardy to Southern Miss per Brent Hubbs
I just spoke with him and he indicated that right now his plan is to sign with Southern Mississippi in part because he is more comfortable with them because they have recruited him longer.

Interestingly, Hardy said he had not heard much from Tennessee the last few days, but would still listen to him if they do call.

Who ever said we backed off of him? We were looking for a pure running back in this class and he fit the mold perfectly.

Not many of us expected to steal him from Southern Miss anyway. Other schools have made efforts to do so with zero success.

Now it's down to Lacy who will likely not qualify. On the bright side, this has to make Oku feel more comfortable about signing with UT.

Sounds like we have backed off him. He said he hasn't heard much from Tennessee in a few days. Not the way you usually go after someone you haven't backed off of.

I've been saying the last couple of weeks that we land Lacy, I think the hiring of Frank Wilson put us over the top with him.
