Is there a reason people in this thread spell Chievous with the e before the i? I started doing that because of this thread but then looked it up and it is Chievous not Cheivous. Inside joke? We are all spelling challenged? Or does utsports.com have it wrong?

If this fight is supposedly true and chievous has a broken jaw and nose, as well as will no longer be with the team, expect a lawsuit.
Personally, I don't buy it.
Additionally, I don't know how Stokes would hurt his wrist with a shot to the face, and he'd probably have to land 2 shots to break the nose and jaw. Stokes would throw two shots and not be suspended? That's not a good precedent to set if you are CM. Again, reasons I don't buy the story.

What if Chievious started it? No lawsuit, and no bad precedent. Personally I can't see Stokes being an aggressor.
The fact that Cheivous had to go to the hospital for a fractured jaw and broken nose was confirmed pretty much everywhere. Someone else was the one who came up with the surgery and mouth wired shut stuff. Cheivous started it, Stokes finished it.
Not to mention the fact that Cheivous was M.I.A. after the fight.
everywhere, or nowhere. What's the difference
A fractured jaw needs to be stable in order to heal. The jaw can only be stable if it is wired shut or plated in surgery to allow no movement of the fracture.
Basically, you don't walk around with a broken jaw and just leave the hospital. It has to be wired, or you have surgery.
I'm no doctor, but I know that there are varying types of fractures and all fractures aren't handled this way.
I'm sure the UT staff saw his broken jaw, decided surgery wasn't necessary, and allowed him to return to physical activity at practice.
That's pretty common.

Not that it really matters, but you are a Fish out of Water. Memphis and Canes Fan living in Knoxville on a Vol Nation Board.
Add to it commenting about UT Basketball. I guess that could be in anticpation of getting to the 3rd round of the NIT.
I have been here for a while to just could not figure it out. The connection. Hard to be in Knoxville and not be a Vol Fan.
Youre dead wrong. It's possible. UT hopsital does great work.
Also, Cheivous hasn't been back to practice for the Vols since the incident, if all reports are accurate.
I've got what I have begun to call a "healthy respect" for the Vols, both football and basketball. Like most Memphis fans, I used to dislike the Vols without really even knowing why. I grew up a bit, moved here and I have an appreciation for them now. Still can't call myself a fan since I didn't attend UT, so I leave it at "healthy respect".
Wife works for the University so UT pays half the bills too.
