I live amongst them, and say they spend more on travel than any fanbase that you can think of. Bama is as die hard, and LSU travels better than any SEC "football" school. Neither hold a candle to money/time spent following their team. I'd bet the house on it.

He built both schools from the ground. I dont know the man, but common sense (which isnt too common with you) tells me that he enjoyed where he was until a job he couldnt pass on arose. Yeah, Cal is just awful.....if he was at UT I'm sure you guys would absolutely despise him and call for his job. :)

Not sure I agree with Kentucky having the most die hard fans but the wonderful thing about that is it doesn't really matter. UK fans will root for UK and other schools fans will root for other schools. It doesnt change anything for either side.

Cal doesn't even hold the record for all time winning percentages or victories as their coach. And granted, some of those tournament apperances were vacated, it wasn't Memphis' first rodeo when Cal rode into town

So now your criteria is if they've only won a national title? Are you really that dense? You said Cal built those programs from the ground up. That means to most sane people that the program had done nothing prior to that. Memphis had some success before Cal arrived and any rational person would agree. Not only are you a delusional homer, you're clueless too.

Let's summarize these pearls of wisdom of Smails:

First, he said the Dean Dome never gets loud. Ever. Next time someone tune in to the Duke-UNC game. Something that is called college basketball's biggest rivalry. We'll see how loud it gets.

Second, he said Memphis' facilities and arena are inferior. Yep, the FedEx Forum is a damn dump.

Third, he said Cal built Memphis from the ground up. Meanwhile, Bartow rolls in his grave and Kirk laughs hysterically.

I'd put Bama, Nebraska and Ohio St fans up against them any day especially when their bandwagon is full like it is at Ky now. LSU doesn't always travel well. They had only 3 winning seasons in the '90's. Their bandwagon is full right now. UT outnumbered LSU in the 2001 and 2007 SECCG. It wasn't even close.

The only time I've seen UT easily outnumbered was at the 2000 Fiesta Bowl against Nebraska. UT had just been the previous year in the national title game and not as many people showed up. Nebraska easily outnumbered UT. Clemson outnumbered UT in the 2004 Chik-Fil-A bowl. UT fans weren't happy with the bowl invite and were outnumbered. Not like the Fiesta bowl, but it was a hard ticket to get in.

You are spot on in only one of those. Ky has the most delusional fan base. Guilty as charged, yet truthful as the sun coming up tomorrow. But hey, nothing like an ESPN graphic to really support your argument! Look at it! Look at it!

I never claimed UNC had a more diehard fanbase. I said they were laughing at you in your futile attempt to act like Ky is above everyone in everything. UNC fans have as much to cheer about as Ky fans. Looking at their most recent history, hell, Fla fans have more to cheer about than Ky. Zero titles since '98. You'd think a program with all the supposed better facilities, arena and fan support, you'd have more titles by now. Yet, nothing since '98. And it kills you.
