Living amongst them, I can say that you are correct. I personally know several that put football ahead of basketball. They have simply had their hearts broken too many times.

I'm excited for CFB to start simply so that Kentucky realizes they're still Kentucky. Lived up there a couple years and it was like clockwork, every year around this time the fan base would get excited, say this was the year, start busting out their football shirts...then 3-4 weeks into the season those shirts go back into the closet and they pull out the basketball shirts and act as if the football team losing no longer exists...same thing will play out this year.

yeah, what's wrong with them?? just terrible that they get excited and have high hopes as fans for the season!

Tennessee vs Kentucky has been a long time rivalry. What do you expect when you come on a Vol website? For us to welcome you with open arms? Trust me, I'm around UK fans all the time and I take crap from them every day cause I'm a UT fan and always have been. It gets pretty obnoxious. I'm excited about the mindset and the "can do" attitude that he brings. I'm excited about a proven defensive mind that also has coupled with a high-powered Air Raid offense.

What is important is that BBN tempers expectations immediately. They need to stick through the rough times of the next few years and support it. If he sticks around, then yeah, I think that we can be in the running for SECE championships. If S. Carolina can reverse their trend, absolutely.
