Kentucky down by 18 to Miami (OH)

For the mindless Pearlite sheep, sure. Let's see how Brillo Head's next four compare to John's last four at Memphis.

We will see and if he does not get the job done at Tennessee I will not be happy but right now is more than satisfied my expectations.

It is you that has the obvious bias towards him. I am for the University of Tennessee regardless of who the coach is.

I am a realist though and dont have unreal expectations to what should happen.

He did not take over North Carolina, he took over a bad Providence team. A job of a coach is to get the most he can out of a team. he failed at that bc he was not able to sneak into the tourney but he did better than most could have by making the NCAA tourney and pulling a few upsets.

He lost four games in a horrible noncon schedule and got drilled by almost the entirety of the Big East NCAA representatives. That's not good. It isn't even in the same neighborhood as good.

Also, I don't know what you are getting at in the last sentence of your post. Keno Davis hasn't pulled any upsets in the NCAA tourney.

Hatvol ---it took Calipari 7 yrs at UMASS to make the elite eight and six seasons at Memphis before he made the elite eight.

At UMASS, he had two NIT trips and did not make either tourney in his first season. At Memphis, Calipari made the NIT three times while his two most successful seasons have been vacated.

Billy Gillespie has coached eight years at three different schools while missing either tourney once, making the NIT twice, and never making the elite eight.

Keno Davis has been a coach for two seasons making the NIT once and the NCAA once while improving both teams records.

Bruce Pearl at UWM missed the tourney once and made the NIT once, while make the NCAA twice including a trip to the sweet sixteen.

At Tennessee he has made the tourney all four years. True he has not made the elite eight yet but he did come within two of making it his second year. I think he has done a better job than Calipari or BCG given the amount of time to work with.

You cant argue with facts!

Back to the short bus for you.

He did a good job considering the lack of talent he had on his roster.

According to you he should be able to take over a team of me and my friends and make the NCAA tournament.

Im not saying he is a great coach but to say he is bad is ridiculous. The man has only coached two seasons and improved both teams.

Let's face it here. Calipari has operated in the gray area as much as Wooden, minus the mobsters, and it still isn't enough for him to have won a championship. He hopes to win one at Kentucky, but it probably won't happen. There is nothing on Cal's resume that indicates that he will win one single championship at Kentucky.

Well obviously he had enough talent to beat Syracuse and Pittsburgh (who was stacked last year by the way) so what could have possibly kept him from beating Northeastern or not getting trounced by almost every other good team in the Big East?

That's an awfully big part to omit.

Pretty sure Harper Williams knocking Syracuse out of the '92 NCAA Tournament already has that wrapped up.

Yea, not HOF coach worthy. And if we're going to get Keno Davis's HOF speech ready after a buzzer beater against Mercer, shouldn't we have already done that when he took down the #1 team in the nation in '09?

Except the two Final Fours.

Thanks for adding to the conversation, the facts are the facts.

Just throwing insults when you have no facts to offer to say Calipari is a better coach than Pearl adds nothing.

The pathetic post you made trying to reference facts is completely useless. I don't have to sit here and spit out facts and compare resumes, because its already been stated over and over and over again. A few others already seem blue in the face from making the point. Obviously it goes in one ear, through an open void and then out the other side with some of you.

Why would I want to sit here and waste time trying to rationalize with someone who is the equivalent of a Jerry's Kids poster child.

How many had Pitino won when he got to Kentucky? Tubby Smith?
