Yea, but let's not go there. That would be a positive for Keno. I think Hat is trying to avoid any of that.

Bruce Pearl also did the same thing with the players he inherited.. but :shhh: don't say anything regarding any type of facts.

Propping up Keno Davis and Providence while ignoring the fact that they didn't have anywhere near a good season last year is not stating facts.

Hell, they got handled by Miami in the first round of the NIT, too.

He did manage to beat the number one team in the country Pittsburgh and Syracuse during the season.

He had a good first season, im not sure how good of a coach he will be in the future and neither do you!

I'm absolutely certain Keno Davis will have the same number of NCAA Tournament appearances as a Big East head coach as Stan Heath. He's the Big East version of Todd Lickliter. Actually, that's not true. Lickliter's resume at Butler blows away Davis' one hit wonder season at Drake.

How can you call him a bad coach? The man has coached two seasons and has improved both teams that he has taken over. He has one NCAA tourney and one NIT appearance to his history.

He improved nothing at Providence. He parlayed a softer schedule into a few more meaningless regular season wins. He was hired to make the NCAA Tournament. He failed miserably. Period.

Who's hyping Keno? Hat's the one who brought him into the discussion. I'm just simply stating the fact that Keno Davis's first year wasn't as bad as Cal's first year at Umass or Memphis.

You're the one acting like regular season home wins over ranked teams are something to laud a coach for. Just pointing out that the previous guy got fired for doing just as much as Saint Keno did.

Failed miserably? C'mon son.. He had Providence on the bubble the whole season. That's not impressive, but it's far from miserable.

Tim Welsh had them "on the bubble" numerous times. You either make the tournament or you don't. Period. He failed. Miserably.

Lol. that's funny. You asked how many of Providence's wins came against NCAA tourney teams and I went to the record books and pulled it out for you. Now can you go to the record books and pull out those mysterious final 4's Cal has made? While you're doing that, I'll head on down to the FedEx forum, just to make sure there are no final 4 banners secretly hanging in there.

Being better than a guy who is now broadcasting fourth tier games for ESPN is somehow a compliment to Davis? Well, when trying to defend trash, I guess you find comfort when you can.

So the same could be said about Calipari bc he has failed miserably more than once. Therefore, he sucks as a coach.

They also had their internal organs handed to them by West Virginia, Notre Dame, Louisville x2, 'Nova, Baylor and lost to Northeastern to start the year. Not a terribly impressive resume.

Bruce Pearls first four years at Tennessee is better than Caliparis first four years at Memphis. End of story--PERIOD!

Not according to the Providence athletic dept. They felt he failed so miserably, they would enjoy some more of that misery for another 7 seasons by extending his stay

He did not take over North Carolina, he took over a bad Providence team. A job of a coach is to get the most he can out of a team. he failed at that bc he was not able to sneak into the tourney but he did better than most could have by making the NCAA tourney and pulling a few upsets.
