When a new coach takes over your program, the ideal is that they will elevate it to a higher level. I realize it's normal for them to take one step back then two steps forward; however, joker has taken one step back then fell straight on his a**. There is a Facebook page rapidly growing which demands Joker to be fired and wanting Mike Leach to be hired. I don't know about all of that, but I do agree that it's time for change at Kentucky.

Yup. I agree. It's Kentucky and 2011. Change yer underwear. Hate it when we get a north breeze.

I don't blame you guys. He had it set up to continue doing what Brooks did, and he has absolutely fallen on his face. You all literally have one of the worst teams in the country, and there's no excuse for that.

I think they'd be down this year, regardless of the coach, because the player they rode for three seasons is gone. Cobb was their Tebow in terms of value, maybe more so. I didn't expect them to fall this much though. They've had absolutely horrible seasons before scaring the heck out of UT in recent history though, so I'm not putting #27 in the bag until we win.

They should've hired Harvey Dent. His coin flip decision process is at least 50% more accurate than Joker's.

As horrible as UK was, Brooks at least had them competitive. Joker was a horrible hire and put even Kentucky a few steps back. The years team is one of the worst UK teams I have seen. The defense / special teams aint too good but no where near as bad as the offense. Anything would be an upgrade but something should be done about your AD as well. Basketball gets all the glory and until the higher ups realize that, I don't see them throwing money out to be competitive in the SEC.

If anybody in the state of Kentucky needs to be fired it is Charlie Strong...That guy is nothing less than hilarious as a head coach...And to think some UT fans wanted him as HC at UT....Wow....Oh yeah and Kentucky Sucks :p

randy sanders stands at the ready

The way KY's offense is performing, I really don't think KY would have a chance to hire Sanders as head coach as every program in the country will be looking at him because of the impressive job he's doing this year. They almost broke 100 yards offense against South Carolina.

It's bad you'all. I just think it was a mistake to make him coach in waiting. His success came from Andre Woodson & Co. You could have taken somebody off of the street and they could have made their OC look good. I think they are realizing now that he is not what they thought he was. He was just surrounded by good company. Hiring a new coach creates excitement and re-energizes a program, you don't get that with a coach-in-waiting. What you see is what you get- Mediocracy. However, it just continues to get worse. I know that we will never be a consistent power in the SEC, but something still has to change.

Kentucky will have to pony up some bucks to get him....Think they would do that for a football coach? :birgits_giggle:

They don't have to spend Saban money to get him. Who else is lining up to hire him right now?

I don't think it would take much at all to get him here. Personally I believe that besides Urban Meyer, Leach is the best coach not currently coaching right now. He has coached at Kentucky before and openly talks about how much he loves Lexington. There are a number of public groups and news bloggers pushing for the Leach to UK movement.

As the cousin of 7 UK Grads, I would like to formally declare my full support for a lifetime contract for Joker Phillips. It's really the best thing.

Vive' le Joker!!

I don't see what all the fuss is about, basketball season is only a month away, and Keenland was open this weekend.

I don't understand all this hate for Joker from the KY fan base. All he needs is 3 more wins at home to pass Fulmer on the all-time Commonwealth stadium win list.
