If you eff with me, I will even pull out the "wait until the national cheerleading championship." That's right, I don't play...

Not worth making a thread of it, but Big Blue Madness is pretty sweet so far. Rondo, Prince, Wall, Cousins, Meeks, Mohammed and more all making guest appearances.

With Randy as offensive coordinator, it is only a matter of time until they have one of the top offenses in the SEC. However, Leach would be a great fit at UK in the event that the Joker era ends.

UK hires Leach, Sanders is gone.

I finally decided to let that stuff go without commenting. It's not like they don't ever say "just wait until football season."

Saying that to us means yall arent to good because havent we beat you in basketball atleast 1 time every year under ex coach pearl? when is the last time you beat us in football so that point isnt an argument.

This is what a kentucky fan says every football season " whens basketball season?" GO VOLS!

That's certainly original.

I heard on the radio (Basilio) that UK's entire recruiting budget is $280,000.

They spent $200,000 just on midnight madness basketball.

Is that right?

Former UK players probably charge high appearance fees to go back to their alma mater.

EDIT: Not sure that's the right term, does it only apply to those who graduate?

Big Blue Madness had a price tag of $200K. But hell, what a show. And it is a mega recruiting tool.

I'll have to admit UK guys, I think the BBM stuff is weird. And, I would be willing to bet that UK would recruit exactly the same if they cancelled it immediately.

If you had made this statement during the Tubby regime, I would have likely agreed. However, after watching three #1 classes sign the dotted line, I'm not so sure I would 100% agree now. It was one thing for a recruit to come to a "Pre-Cal" BBM, but it's entirely different now. Imagine a kid having narrowed down his decision to two schools, one being UK. Going to BBM with 23,000 people, seeing Rondo, Wall, Prince, Cousins, Mohammed, etc, come back just for a visit really has an effect on a 17 year olds mind. 3 weeks ago Kevin Durant, LeBron, and others were on campus for pick up games.

Could Cal still recruit the same without BBM? Probably, but it certainly is an Ace on the turn after two in the flop. Sorry for the horrible poker reference.

I can see this. I just think BBM is much more a big deal to fans, and that's understandable considering the following UK basketball has. Cal's recruiting prowess comes from the NBA connections and his showmanship, and this BBM is just a great example of that showmanship. I think it's a little on the obsessive side, but I'm sure I'd think it was cool if I was a UK fan.

Oh no doubt, obsessive, over the top, perhaps a tad insane, all are proper adjectives. IF one were looking for a correlation, perhaps UT just decides to quit the "Power T" cold turkey before games. I imagine it would be a similar riot.

Oddsmaker Danny Sheridan mistakenly installed Jacksonville State as a nine-point favorite at Kentucky on USA Today's web site. Sheridan told the Louisville Courier-Journal the line was an error. Las Vegas typically doesn't post betting lines on games with Football Championship Subdivision teams. Kentucky is so bad the line actually seemed somewhat credible. Sheridan, who publicly alleged there was a bagman in the Cam Newton case, has lost so much credibility lately that even a mistake in his expertise isn't surprising.
