Kentucky is killing the portal. Just landed the #1 QB

What is going on in Lexington? I was looking at their Rivals site and they have high level portal guys coming in left and right. They just got Devin Leary, the #1 QB in the portal from NC State. I guess all the Will Levis draft hype made a difference. They have also landed dudes from the likes of Bama, OSU, Cincinnati, Michigan, and others.

Don’t know what is so attractive up there at the basketball school right now, but I hope CJH starts to dive a little harder into the portal before the Orange Bowl. Disappointed in our efforts there so far.

But no matter what UK does, they still won’t beat us!

Those guys are in the portal for a reason...............JMO, but Leary ain't the best QB in the portal.

True about those guys being there for a reason, but according to every site I’ve looked at, Leary is ranked #1 in the portal. He was on all the NFL Draft boards with Stroud, Young, Levis, etc, before he got hurt this year.

Lumped in with Levis? Wow.

Several QBs I'd rather have in the portal, but I'm no expert.

You need to cover your tracks a bit better.

@peaygolf, take a look at this guy’s post history and you’ll see why he’s enamored with Levis and Kentucky’s portal prospects.

Enamored? Lol. Yeah, ok. I was going back and forth about Levis in another thread here, yes. I’m certainly no fan of him or anything to do with Kentucky. I used to live there and despise all things UK. I was just simply saying that the experts love the guy. Not me. But I can see why they do, whereas many are baffled by the hype surrounding the kid.

Also...Hooker was in the portal for a reason. He just happened to flourish in CJHs system. Portal is full of guys who never make it, at any school. Glad HH did great and chose UT.

I think that there are other systems or situations HH could have flourished in as well. He has good pocket presence and a good arm.

The key with the Portal is that you have to differentiate between guys who are there for bad reasons and guys who are there for good reasons.

They definitely aren’t “killing it” IMO. Yes, Devin could end up being a very good QB for them but the rest is them just filling holes on a very lack luster roster. Pair that with their poor recruiting class this cycle and it’ll be the same ole Kentucky rolling out onto the field next season.

I am confused....I just looked at the ON3 Transfer portal tracker, and only see one top 50 transfer player who committed to UK....and that is Leary....am I looking at the wrong place?

Why are we piling on?
UK dominating the portal outside the Top 50 players is killing it in Lexington.
