Kentucky is killing the portal. Just landed the #1 QB

They did bring back their old OC, Liam Coen.

KY has two good WRs, and Davis should be a good RB. Leary should be at least a mid level SEC QB. Can't ever remember a good TE there.

OL was horrible and they did get an OT from the portal as well.

They will be competitive on offense, especially compared to last season.
Coen will be an improvement but I am not worried about their players.

Our DBs held up against Kentuckys WRs this year, and next year we will be better, both in the back and up front.
Davis from Vandy was also a non factor.

The OT would definitely be an improvement. Who knows if it's enough.

Leary being comparable, at best, to Levis doesnt scare me, even under another OC.

Going from NC State football to Kentucky Football is like choosing the Olive Garden over Red Lobster. A lot of people get excited about both, but you already know going in that by the end of the meal you’re going to be disappointed at the mediocrity of it.

Throw Applebees in there too. I leave feeling stupid for walking in there every time . I'm not sure why it's happened more than once.

He does save them the growing pains of a freshman. Definitely an upgrade for UK.

Guess that makes the running game of Kentucky the cheddar biscuits from Red Lobster because those are the only good things at either place.

They’re still Kentucky. No worries.

USCe says, hold my beer. UK is upgrading their roster. They will be better next year. Yes, I hope we hang 60 on them, but Stoops knows he has to change some things, a lot of things to compete.

Are you serious? He was a Johnny Unitas finalist in 2021 and the 2022 preseason ACC POY before he got hurt.
If you actually watched him play you would see what the NCSU offense looked like outside of the two creampuff games. Even in their close wins they had to offset his play

No he did not. His three highest grades of his career are John Elway, Peyton Manning, and Andrew Luck. He had Leaf going ahead of Manning because he thought the Colts would select Leaf first, but as far as grades and ranking go, he had Manning higher. Leaf was his fourth rated prospect on his big board, while Manning was first.
He said leaf would be the #1 pick which is what was stated. And kiper said multiple times Leaf would be #1 over Manning. I saw it myself. You are trying to parse words to backtrack that you were wrong yet again 😂

Backtrack? I was wrong? You can literally go to YouTube and watch the first round of the draft. Manning was his number one prospect. And do you want to compare posting histories? Let me guess, you still think that all those 18-22 year-old Axis “security” guards are going to keep fans from rushing the field after beating Alabama in October right?

He threw for 3500 yards, 35 TD’s, 5 INT’s and completed 67% of his passes. He was and is not terrible. Terrible QB’s aren’t finalists for the QB of the year award.

So yes or no Mel kiper said leaf would be the #1 QB pick over Manning? Which is what was said in this thread

“In 1998, Kiper had Ryan Leaf ranked above Peyton Manning on his big board. Manning went on to be selected No. 1 overall and had a Hall of Fame career in the NFL. Leaf was selected No. 2 overall and quickly fell out of the league”

Those guys are in the portal for a reason...............JMO, but Leary ain't the best QB in the portal.
I’m not sure what you’re saying. Them being in the portal doesn’t mean they aren’t good, or that they were the problem. Coaching changes and other things can contribute. UT has made fairly good use of the portal so far. We’ve added some guys who were good teammates and produced. Just because we hate Kentucky and they are hot garbage and always will be, doesn’t mean those additions can’t play.
