Yeah, I think we are a really good matchup for UK. They don't have an intimidating presence in the post, where you could argue is our biggest weakness in terms of depth and experience. Andrew Carr doesn't really scare anyone like an Oscar Tshiebwe did.Yeah. I guess that’s what good defense does (make the offense look uncomfortable/disjointed). It just felt like (compared to our defense) that Clemson was doing a lot more scrambling and wasn’t as effective just staying in front of their man. Maybe they’re just switchier and it probably helps that UK didn’t really have a great way to punish it.
I guess my big takeaway was that Clemson didn’t do anything that I saw on defense that I wouldn’t expect us to be able to replicate.
So, if we can create chaos and dysfunction on the perimeter with our guards, I think we can replicate that kind of outcome. It doesn't mean we will win, necessarily, but if we lose, I'd likely attribute it more to a poor shooting night for us than UK just cooking our defense.
