Kentucky lost again

Yeah. I guess that’s what good defense does (make the offense look uncomfortable/disjointed). It just felt like (compared to our defense) that Clemson was doing a lot more scrambling and wasn’t as effective just staying in front of their man. Maybe they’re just switchier and it probably helps that UK didn’t really have a great way to punish it.

I guess my big takeaway was that Clemson didn’t do anything that I saw on defense that I wouldn’t expect us to be able to replicate.
Yeah, I think we are a really good matchup for UK. They don't have an intimidating presence in the post, where you could argue is our biggest weakness in terms of depth and experience. Andrew Carr doesn't really scare anyone like an Oscar Tshiebwe did.

So, if we can create chaos and dysfunction on the perimeter with our guards, I think we can replicate that kind of outcome. It doesn't mean we will win, necessarily, but if we lose, I'd likely attribute it more to a poor shooting night for us than UK just cooking our defense.

I watched the game last night, riding high after our performance, and was absolutely entertained by that game. Obviously, Kentucky losing is so, so sweet.

Clemson showed the blueprint. Play aggressive on defense and contest the shots. Kentucky cannot run their (still) disjointed offense when the defensive intensity is high. I think we match up really well - our offense is better than Clemson, our defense is too (we don’t have a bruiser like they do, that kid was a baller).

This Kentucky team looks like the late Tubby Smith era teams. A collection of decent to good players, but no stars. Nobody to clearly go to in crunch time so you’re going to depend on running plays instead of making plays.

I have mixed feelings on this one. On the one hand, I love seeing Kentucky lose and now it looks like they’ve started to put it together. On the other, it’s a good win for the conference. I’ll be curious to see where they rank Kentucky this week.
