Kentucky vs Indiana

You need to look at this objectively, bro - AP is hot right now and UK couldn't even begin to slow down their backcourt. I would give UK a slight edge at Rupp... but anyway else and I'll take AP.

I agree. But considering that we have let opponents shoot crazy good, and still been very close...We could do it...

I would say AP by a couple neutral or road. And by 10 at Rupp.

Great interview with Tom Crean at danpatrick.com if you want to listen. Talks about the game and what Cal said to him after the game.

Seriously?? Take off those blue shades for a minute and think logically about this. FWIW, Project Pat is a big APSU fan...

Kentucky will be fine. If you examined the game closely, there were plenty of reasons to be concerned with UK’s performance. Its young players seemed genuinely rattled by IU’s hyped-up home environment. Forward Anthony Davis committed a series of silly fouls and missed most of the game in return. Forward Terrence Jones mentally checked out. Guard Marquis Teague was shaky for much of the first half. All of these are valid mini-criticisms, but if Big Blue fans are feeling slightly freaked out, they shouldn’t be. This Wildcats team is still very, very talented, and right now its mistakes — dumb fouls, lack of focus, turnovers, broken set plays — are of the youthful variety.

Few teams in the country would have played a composed, controlled game in Saturday’s atmosphere, and when you consider that Kentucky was able to come back and nearly win the game on a day in which Davis rarely played and Jones was never his typical self, well, that’s impressive in its own right. The Cats may lose a few games on the road. They may make a few dumb mistakes here and there. But don’t worry too much, UK fans. This team will be just fine.

This pretty much sums up my thoughts on the loss. As for the UK/AP argument, it is too laughable to actually try to comment seriously.

Considering I said we would lose (or barely win) 2/3 places...that is objectively.

In my earlier post, I meant to say AP by a couple, not UK. Sorry.

Why is it laughable? Say one thing for UT, at least we were brave enough to schedule them knowing full well they would come into TBA and walk away with a victory barring a miracle. This loss will be good for the Vols in the long run since it will help our RPI. It's no fun losing, but if you gotta lose, it better be to a team like APSU.

It's all fun and games for the two or three folks around here that wear both UT and UK icons to babble on about this, it has been quite entertaining watching everyone flame the trolls. I get it, and have no problem with it. I just assume that it's all in good jest, because quite frankly I don't think anyone on this board is that stupid, even though a few are on the threshold.

However, just in case some of the statements made during that tirade were serious, if there happens to be any doubt, let me clear it up for anyone who may be confused. Anyone who thinks that a loss to an undefeated Big Ten team (traditional rival) is worse than losing to AP out of the OVC, is an idiot. If you think that UK wouldn't run down AP by 20, you're an idiot. And if you think UT fans shouldn't be the least bit ashamed by losing to an OVC team at home, you're an idiot.

So yes, congrats on your bravery for scheduling an OVC team who has suffered double digit losses to powerhouses such as Bowling Green, Oral Roberts, and Middle Tennessee.

"Ashamed" is a strong word. I am a UT fan, but I am not the least bit ashamed about that bad loss, since you're demanding honesty. I've got more important things to concern myself with than being ashamed that UT lost a basketball game.

Man, I was really surprised to see you get suckered in. You seem like a pretty knowledgeable UK fan and i appreciate that. Unlike the other guy who asked "when had UK cheated?". As a UK BBall fan, two instances come to mind pretty quick. So to be fair, not trying to fool anyone with my "icons". I am a UK basketball fan.

On a more serious note, again, good loss and should benefit them come March. Most would disagree, but i will say the same thing as last year, D. Miller could be the key to putting this team over the top. Really wish he would step up. With all that said, Go Govs!

True. A tad disheartened maybe?

It was like watching the crow fly into the freshly cleaned glass door over and over again, somebody had to finally open the door.

As for the loss, it will 100% benefit them, which is why I'm really not that upset about it. Toughest atmosphere to play in hands down, with the way that program is surging back (at least in their minds). Got their first taste of the road and what it's like. They will learn to embrace it, and be fine.

After sitting through last year's season, which saw UT go from NIT Champs to first-round bust, while playing under an NCAA cloud over a cookout, and after sitting through four years of mostly really bad football, an embarrassing home basketball loss in a season that's supposed to be bad is barely a pin prick.

Had that happened during one of Bruce's first five seasons, I would have been really ticked, and it would have been a tough one to get over from. At this point, we've suffered so much across multiple sports lately that, as fans, we're getting numb to this kind of thing.

I'm also a Bears fan; that very-promising season went into the toilet as soon as the QB went down.

I'm not going to let bad news in sports deck my life.

You're a jerk! Can't wait to see APSU demolish you guys in the 2nd round of the tournament. I'll be sitting here saying "told you so"

Yeah i hear ya...i really couldnt believe some of the responses to that bull mess.

Its always egregious to lose to a big rival, but i am okay with IU being decent. Not because i like them in the least, but its healthy for college BBall.

I just hope UK steamrolls UL. The only thing that seperates the two is 76 miles and 5 nat'l championships.

If APSU gets screwed with a 16-seed, it will probably be the first time a 16 beats a 1 in the men's tournament.

Yeah I can already tell the Kentucky fans are trying to downplay APSU. I just hope they get a fair seed in the tourney and the committee isn't discounting them just because they are in the OVC. I mean look at Murray State. APSU has played a tougher schedule than UK and it should pay off come tourney time
