Dont think ESPN hates UT as a whole, just our football program! Ive heard numerous ESPN guys say they love Bruce.
Agreed. His flaws in X's and O's notwithstanding, he has people talking about UT basketball. Getting your name out there is always the first step when you're rebuilding a down program. It's just like what Kiffin is doing for UT football now.
We are 5 years into this. Can you really say that he is still in the rebuilding stage?
Given a choice, Bruce would probably choose to go up in flames, than be put out by piss from that bald moron.Vitale wouldn't piss on a burning Bruce. Same for some of the newer analysts.
Doesn't matter. We don't care what those nimrods believe. Win big games or dome big possessions and much of the grousing will go away.
Theres no other coach in america that could do what he did with our bball program so grow up and be happy you have a top 10 coach before people like you push him away and were back to 15-15 again. And half court games are for 6-4 fat kids that shoot threes, not the athletes we have. You play with the cards your dealt, but you dont know that, you just like to stomp your feet like a spoiled child at toys r us. You may not have The best team in america, but you do have a perennial top 15 power. Grow up.

Except this:
I didn't know Bruce was randomly dealt these players, that must be why he was taking a vacation during the eval period of the summer after his most hyped team ever was taken out in the first round of the NCAAs by Sean Freaking Sutton.
He's talking about how he rebuilt the program. Obviously he's not talking about how the team that is #8 in the Country is rebuilding. When Buzz was here people would have killed for a 1st round loss in the Dance you have ridiculous expectations or zero UT basketball program knowledge or short term memory loss. The guy has done a fantastic job here and you better believe if he leaves the next guy that comes in here won't be as good for the program as Bruce is. We're not UNC, UCLA, Duke, UConn or Kentucky. We're a football school that has been ranked in the top 10 in basketball the past few years. Be excited for once
Yeah, 'cause his recruiting class really sucks. The typical agenda folks show up with their usual BS. Nothing positive about UT or Pearl, get it straight guys.
So good he's going after transfers.

It's not even about that either. It's about how after his worst showing in the NCAAs with his "most tourney ready team" he shows all of us his desire to commit to getting his team over the hill by coaching his son in Israel.

do you look at anything objectively? Yeah Bruce did great things with what we had, but we plateaued. Some fans aren't complacent, they want to get better and better. It just comes with the territory.
Check the post again.
I'm going to give Pearl the benefit of the doubt and assume the rumors of Tennessee's pursuit of Maymon are erroneous. If not, UT is attempting to sign a guy who will make Marques Johnson, Tony Passley, and Phillip Jurick look like inspired pickups. So good he's going after transfers.
My problem is not the wanting "better", it's the, one, lack of definition of what's "better" and, two, the casual disregard of what we have. Suddenly, a top ten team with 1 loss against the #4 team by 1 point is not only disgregarded, we find ways to scoff at it. "Being objective" and "realistic" is confused here (and many places) with simply just complaining and being negative. Every time someone says that it's to make a negative observation of some sort.
Sorry, I'm just not into doing that self-loathing stuff. Objectively, I'm quite happy with being a top ten team with an 8-1 record. I don't see why that's such a difficult concept for all those who want to rip Pearl and the team all the time.
