Kevin Stallings Called Me an Idiot!!!

Stallings? No way, he's actually done a good job this year considering his circumstances.

Having said that, the Midday 180 was somewhat ripping him today. He's been at Vandy 14 seasons now, and his career SEC record is 118-122.

That's exactly his SEC record but his overall is 416-250. Probably real easy to pick out bad years in the SEC. Cant argue with the overall.

It will be interesting to see if UT has a full house tomorrow with the jersey retirement and the game on tv.

Stallings wants us to keep Gonzo, so that he can own us. Woohoo, Baldy made a statement!! How about fixing that effed up court of yours so that it doesn't give you an unfair advantage?

Sure you can when they've only made the NCAAT 6 times in his 14 season career there, and barring winning the SECT, they aren't going this year.

I don't think he's a bad coach and he's in no danger at VU, but I think he's pretty much hit his ceiling at VU.

Don't forget that Baldy is the one who publicly called Bruce Pearl an "idiot arsehole" when he was our coach. He can't stand it when UT has a competent coach. If he truly loves Cuonzo, he'll bend over and take it in the shorts on Saturday when he comes to Knoxville.

Commendable job by Counzo. He took the job facing NCAA sanctions. Took it when no one else would. With all this being said, Stallings needs to stfu.

I, for one, think Stallings is doing a fantastic job at Vanderbilt and should stay there for as long as possible.

Coaches defend each other. What else would he say? Also, I'd hire Stallings in a minute. jmo

Hes 118-123 in his career vs SEC teams. Overachieves with poor talent, underachieves with great talent and is a prick. No thanks IMHO.

Hey SpecialEd, fitting name btw, Pearl is not returning to UT and that's not why Stallings said what he did. He said it as a coach. This is his 15th year at Vandy and he's had some pretty good one's all in all including IllSt. There's no reason for him to be afraid of Bruce Pearl or anyone else. Even the 'great and powerful Pearl' split with them most years and lost to them twice in the 09-10 season. Billy Donovan cant even claim a winning record vs UT probably dating back to Jerry Green.

Split with them most years? Pearl was 8-4 vs Vandy. So, if he split with them say 4 years ("most years"), them he swept them the other two, went 4-0..... I'll take that.

Regardless of what Stallings says the criteria should be tourney Martin gets to stay. No tourney he gets fired. That is all no other input should be considered.
One could reason this team would have won five more games with a solid point guard maybe even Golden. Regardless they should have been good enough to win 20 in the present SEC. So not making the tournament is underachieving no matter how you look at it. If he makes it then we should not fire a guy that probably got what he could get out of this team with a non-scoring point guard and a less than 100 percent Maymon.

everytime someone brings up Golden I am going to point out his last game he was 0-10 with 0 pts and 2 assists against ND and is leading his team to a losing record and maybe not even a bid to the tourney one rung below the nit. For arguments sake, last year against Va we score 38. This year, 90. And that's the one win that is keeping us in.

That's not saying pg play shouldn't have been better. Just pointing out that history shows that Golden leads his teams nowhere.

Cm's teams will never have great pg play because he has no idea how to coach the position or offense surrounding a good pg. A big reason he has gone this long without making the tourney.

I think Stallings realizes, as do most, that Pearl isn't coming back to Tennessee.

I do as well. Either way, I'm betting he'd rather face Martin than Pearl ... and Anthony Grant at Bama rather than Pearl, a possible landing spot for Pearl if Bama makes a change, which many expect them to do.
