Key Arkansas RB to miss "extended period"

Their two headed rushing attack has been toted as their biggest strength this year, and although I have nothing against them or this running back I have to think UT's odds just made a significant jump for this game. They still have a dominant O-line and another good rusher, but with their porous defense I don't think that will be enough.

Porous defense? We did lose some players but I don't think there will be THAT big of a drop off. Entire secondary and 8/10 defensive linemen back. LB is a concern though.

Losing Williams sucks. He was our best blocker and receiving back too. Freshman Rawleigh Williams and RB/FB Kody Walker will get more of a load now.

That really sucks, he bypasses the draft and comes back and this happens. Unfortunately it happens a lot in college football. I hope he makes a full recovery and kicks butt in the draft

Even I don't wish this on Arkansas, wishing they win all of their games besides UT not so much.

I hate any kid getting hurt. Best wishes to him.

What secondary?

Tevin Mitchell was all you guys had last year. This year it's Rohan, and he's trash.

Other than Brooks Ellis and maybe Bijon, I think you guys struggle on D this year. No more flowers or speight...those are 2 tough losses.

Jared Collins led the SEC in pass breakups last year and DJ Dean was recently named a top 10 corner in college football by pro football focus. Tevin was our nickelback and wasn't even on the field against two receiver sets. Our 3rd CB Henre Toliver held Amari Cooper to his lowest output of the season as a true freshman last year.

We brought in a JUCO all-American and high 4* Hjalte Froholdt on the DL too. Bielema says it's the deepest one he's ever had, Bijhon has been running 2nd team in camp. No one knew who Martrell Spaight was this time last year.

It was also a nasty rainy game against bama, so passing wasn't a huge factor. Both teams were trying to grind it out. I knew who Spaight was because I live in Arkansas. Collins was impressive but DJ Dean hasn't proven anything yet. Idk how great Froholdt is going to be, 1 year at JUCO plus he's from Sweden or Finland, some Norse country. We'll see if he can translate.

Saw on ESPN it was his foot - at least not the knee or ankle -- I would bet he is back around October sometime

I made it sound like Froholdt was the JUCO I was referring to but I was actually talking about two players with the other being Jeremiah Ledbetter, Froholdt is straight out of high school.

Anyways we'll see. I think Robb Smith is a really good DC.

Whoever liked the OP... come on.... this is a kid's future here, and I'm wagering that the 2 (so far) people that liked it are happy just because it increases our chances of beating Arkansas. Seriously?

My, some of their fans on the 247 sports pages are rather salty towards us and seemingly expect to crush us. One guy even said, despite the fact that our records were the same last year and we've brought in two top 5 recruiting classes, that Arkansas is trending up, and we're trending down. Wtf?

Seems like every team we play is 100% healthy when they play us and were always bout 50%. It's about time other teams have this problem. No ill will intended to the kid.

Really? Terrible post. I'd say you should be ashamed but I somehow doubt you have shame after a comment like that.

I hate it for this or any kid hurt like this. Get well soon.

Ok, that's makes sense lol. I've heard Ledbetter before. Any word on Brooks Ellis?

He's gonna be playing at the same spot Spaight played at last year so I'd expect the defense to be geared to funnel tackles towards him. The bad thing is if he gets hurt his backup is a true freshman
