He simply hasn't been money all year. He's missed 5 of his last 6 fgs over the last two key close SEC games. He only attempted 6 in the 4 games prior to that and he's 5-10 in SEC play. To put it into context, he's missed more FG the last two games than Campbell missed all last season, and more than McGrath missed either of his last two seasons.Ur name fits you. The kid has been money all year, and he’s a freshman. He’ll be alright.
Wouldn't be suprised if the person defending him on here is a relative. When kickers get the yips, it is hard for them to break out of it. You don't him want him to be the reason they lost to GA or Vandy and cost the team a chance at the playoffs. He simply hasn't been money all year. Can't trust him anywhere on the field right now. If we need a 48-yarder to win, no way I'd put him out there unless we literally don't have another kicker on the roster.
The last two games he’s been off but he hit a clutch fg against bama. Also the two he missed against bama were 50 plus. And you skimmed over how he hadn’t missed a fg until bama. Hes a freshman kicker, y’all get caught up in thinking the back up is gonna be 10 x better then the starter.. the fact is ill trust the coaches to put the best players on the field instead of ppl bitching about freshman having bad games. He simply hasn't been money all year. Before tonight his misses had mainly been 50 plus yarders. I think he will bounce back, he needs a good week next week to get his rythmn and groove back. We need to move the ball better and get more touchdowns than field goals. I do think we are close, we need to get on track next week and make them near misses connections. Throw and catch it guys! So should they run that new commit out there? I love the player X had a bad game, kick him off the team and replace him with player Y mentality of some on here. It must get tiring constantly searching for someone to complain about when others perform. Life is way too short to live it the way you guys do.Gilbert has left 15 points on the field in the last two games,
The Georgia game could be decided by the special teams units.
Give Turbyville a chance as the field goal specialist.
Tennessee just had a kicker from South Carolina commit for the 2025 class.
The good news for those who think Heupel has been coaching too conservatively and really loves offense... the Vols will probably now be going for it on 4th down when inside the 40.One thing for sure. Josh won't pull him.
