I heard about this on sports talk today. They said he may have cooled a bit on the Tajh Boyd recruit,he may not fit Lane's pro style offense. The kid from Southern California does I heard,he's th number one rated passer in Cal...whats his name? Last name starts with a B,does anyone know who I'm talking about?

I believe he must have some idea that he is interested if he told Boyd he might need to look elsewhere.

Matt Barkley and he's a lifelong USC fan. I hope Coach Kiffin get him but it appears to be a longshot.

Cooled a bit? He was never hot on him. He flat out told the kid you can come, but you probably will not fit my system! Another words, I will honor our scholarship offer that was extended to you, but I don't think either party will be happy! Tajh then said ok see later.

The KNS has reported that Boyd pulled his commitment last night after hearing Kiffin's opinion that he might not fit with the new system. Kiffin offered to honor the scholarship, but it sounds like he talked straight with the young man. Gutsy call. I am looking forward to seeing the alternative to Boyd, who was pretty highly regarded. Hopefully the coach knows something that we don't.

Keep in mind some of the best QB's are the ones that get overlooked. Kiffin will find what he needs b/c he realizes this is the key cog in the machine.

Rivals is reporting that Kiffin informed Boyd's dad that Tennessee would not honor the scolarship offer. I am glad to see this. He is a dual threat QB and we will be a under the center pro type offense. Look at Mitch Mustain's struggles at USC. He was in the gun in Highschool and he has struggles to make the reads from under center. Same sititution here and I believe that is also keeps us clear of th Chris Leak version 2.0 that is now Tajh Boyd. As someone from WV, I have seen first hand just how big of an ego that he has and his dad wants to call the damm offense. Way to go Kiffin, go get Barkley:clapping:

There have been 27 threads about this, and Barkley has no chance whatsoever of coming to UT. He is enrolling at USC in 4 weeks. Give it up.

We have a better shot at getting Jesus at QB than Barkley. He was interested in UT once upon a time, but this kid is apparently a lifelong USC fan

Everyone around the situation has said we arent even trying to recruit him and that hes about as locked as they get

He may be going after Nunez again. After all, he was once commited to UT but backed out. He may change his mind now that Kiffin is HC. JMHO

How many of those do you think are running around out there with no prior commitments? I think in today's environment there aren't many players with big potential that are under all recruiters radar. having someone like that turn into a big time player seems remote at best.

It always amazes me how many great pros come out of little no-name colleges, but recogonizing who those hidden diamonds are when they are still in high school is obviously difficult to do.
