Kiffin leaning toward California QB

:lolabove: jeez dont give him indigestion for god sake!

still there may still be a chance for Barkley :good!:

Naaaa, He is USC through and through. Kiffin wouldn't do that to PC. I think Barkley is just being mentioned because he is left coast and Kiffin is left coast. Not a whole lot to this one. Even if he does take a visit to Knoxville do you really think he is gonna decommit from his dad's alma mater to come to a rebuilding team in the east? I wouldn't, I would stay with the USC/NFL factory.

This sounds sort of similar with Peyton (#1 high school player in the nation in 1994) when everybody was thinking he was instantly bound for Ole Miss because of his dad and his older brother, Cooper. The biggest difference is Peyton had not committed to a school yet while Barkley has with USC because of his dad and a lifelong fan. Unless Kiff can pull the unthinkable, our chances maybe slim or none.

if Steve Sarkisian takes the Washington job, I think we may have a shot at Barkley, unless he followed Sark to UW. I think Kiffin has a shot, and the chances of early success/exposure are greater at UT, or I would assume so.

Call it swagger if you want, but this is a risky move.

How do you figure? There's very little risk involved in not signing a kid that you are 99% sure will never start in your system.

Boyd probably has a very bright future playing for someone... just not Kiffin.

It resembles VY in Norm Chow's offense w/ the Titans. A mediocre passer who has god given ability w/ his legs but in a pro style offense the two do not mesh at all and that is the same case here.

Mettenberger will be a Joe Cox clone at UGA.. If he wants to coach one day down the road then he should stick with UGA and signal in the plays each down for four years.

a much better program than Ole Miss when Peyton made his college decsion. Had Ole Miss been really good at that time, he surely would not have picked the orange.

This is actually really helpful. That was his recruiter. If we pull Yogi Roth now, I'd say that gives us a lot better chance.

Im pretty sure Barkley is committed to the University not a specific coach...but it's worth a try.

Tennessee inquire about North Atlanta QB Londry-Jackson. Kiffin was in Atlanta today visiting this potenial QB.

You're completely wrong about Boyd.

How many of those do you think are running around out there with no prior commitments? I think in today's environment there aren't many players with big potential that are under all recruiters radar. having someone like that turn into a big time player seems remote at best.
Do we have a chance at Kevin Newsome or Eugene Smith? These two guys have not made a commitment yet.

and he is a dual threat QB...

does not seem to even resemble a Kiffin type QB.

weird

The article actually says that he told his mom that he did not fit our pro-style offense but Kiffin would pass his tape around and spread word about him to coaches at schools that do run a spread offense. So it does not sound like Kiffin is recruiting him to come to UT as a QB. To me, it sounds like Kiffin is trying to make some in-roads in the area. If he gets this kid a scholarship at a good size school then it will help his reputation when he tries to recruit in Atlanta in the future.
