Kiffin pisses off Jeff Fisher

My assumption is that Fisher was more upset because its happened from the coach of his alma mater. I see his argument/complaint, but the new generation of coached do not seem to operate in the old ways for the most part. My guess is that Kiffin probably could care less that Fisher is upset.

Titans running backs coach Kennedy Pola is leaving the team to accept a job as offensive coordinator at Southern Cal.

The move comes a week before the Titans begin training camp.
Titans Coach Jeff Fisher said Saturday morning he was informed of the move by Pola, and said he wasn't contacted throughout the process by USC head coach Lane Kiffin, formerly head coach of the Tennessee Vols.

Fisher hired Pola back in January. He said he plans to replace Pola by a coach already on the staff.

“I am very disappointed in Lane Kiffin’s approach to this,’’ Fisher said on Saturday. “Typically speaking when coaches are interested in hiring or discussing potential employment from coaches on respective staffs there is a courtesy call made from the head coach or athletic director indicating there is an interest in talking to the assistant.

“So I am very disappointed in the lack of professionalism on behalf of Lane, to call me and leave me a voice mail after Kennedy had informed me he had taken the job. It is just a lack of professionalism."

I imagine some of both. I think the deal might be that it's just done very unprofessionally/inconsiderately than a majority of coaches handle these dealings (most will inform someone in the front office at the very least and at least request to talk rather than behind the back/under the table negotiations)

...and of course again, USC/Kiffin is taking someone away from a team very late into he period and leaving them having to take another "who's left" coach

Kiffin is eventually going to burn one too many bridges for his own good.....

Your guess is correct because Kiffin is a piece of ****.

Pola is gonna be upset when he finds out he won't be controlling the offense

I doubt it. He knows what the deal is. He gets a house in Malibu and plenty of credit and basically does nothing. It is kind of like coaching Chris Johnson without living next to Kix Brooks. Once again, it is not the action taken by Kiffin, but the execution that pisses me off. **** Lane Kiffin. This state is his new Urban Meyer. Thanks mattress burners...

Kiffin is a disaster in the making. His train wreck is quickly approaching and I for one will enjoy every minute of it when he jumps the track. He is a piece of work.

Didn't Kiffin recruit WR Patrick Turner?

Seems I recall something about Fischer holding off on announcing the hiring of then USC O-Coordinator Norm Chow until after Turner had signed with USC, foregoing his second school of choice, Tennessee. Do I recall that correctly?

Fisher didnt know? We've known on VN for about a month that CLK was after Pola.
The Titans are notoriously lacking in the area of retention. Coaches and especially players.

the poll on Eson says,"Do you agree with Jeff Fisher that there was a lack of professionalism on Lane Kiffin's behalf in his hiring of Kenny Pola." 82% say yes and 18% say no, but the Votes in TN say 96% yes and 4% no out of 256 votes.:post-4-1090547912::post-4-1090547912::post-4-1090547912::post-4-1090547912:

I assume it means that he knew that Kiffin had tried to talk to Pola; but nothing else was said about that until Pola informed him today that it was finalized and Kiffin called and left the voicemail this afternoon.

A possible comparison might be the way Kiffin mentioned to Hamilton a few weeks prior that USC might come to him looking for the HC job, and then the next thing heard by anyone (outside of USC and Kiffin) about it was when Kiffin called Hamilton the day he took the job and said "I'm leaving"
