Kiffin pisses off Jeff Fisher

LAME kiffin has 0 class. Fisher is one of the most repected coaches in football and a USC alumn and to not at least call him prior to talking to the RB coach is inexcusable. I can't wait to see kiffin fall flat on his face at USC

Good coach maybe, zero class definitely. Say what you want about Fisher i've been a critic of his and will continue to be. I named him "field goal fisher", but i like the team and i'm surprised how much hate there is for the Titans on this board. If they're here i support them plain and simple. Fisher is a pretty good coach, he has class. I don't always agree with his conservative nature but there are worse coaches in the league.. Kiffin's tenure at SC will be short lived because the dummy can't help himself.

With a new AD at USC, Kiffin better win this year. Unless he shocks all of us and wins the right way and doesn't cheat in recruiting (which will be hard with Coach O there) , I really doubt his tenure at USC will be very lengthy. He is old news and since they won't be in the polls or the bowls, hopefully we won't hear much about that team this year. But then again, it is Lane Kiffin and he will probably figure someway to make someone mad.
If I'm not mistaken they can still be ranked in the AP. I for one would love to see USC go undefeated, win the AP national championship, then rub it in the face of all the UT fans who are still acting like some jilted ex lover.

Fisher also probably gave arguably one of the best coaching jobs in NFL history during the 2001 season.

Not a Nashville Titans fan but, arguably, Fisher did an even better coaching job last year with the good finish to what in the beginning looked like it was going to be a horrible season.

Haha I seem to have struck a nerve with that one. Good deal.

I just want to know who's alter ego you actually are on here. I know there are multiple people on here that have multiple accounts on here. So, this is just a troll name for you, I'm almost 100% sure on it. You try and play devil's advocate too much for you to actually have your own personality.

This whole situation is a little odd. Here's an article from three weeks ago that discusses Kiffin's interest in Pola. Pola makes several statements to the press on the matter.

Kiffin trying to poach Titans running back coach | ProFootballTalk.com

Now we have another article over three weeks later in which Jeff Fisher expresses surprise that Pola left.

Lane Kiffin hires away Tennesssee Titans coach, irks Jeff Fisher - ESPN Los Angeles

Maybe Kiffin should have called. I'm not familiar with the etiquette in coaching circles. But it seems like Fisher has had time to take the initiative if he was really interesting in discussing the issue.

Once again people are mixing his classlessness with his predicted inability to win in the future. They are different things. He is classless, yes. But that doesn't mean he will not be able to win games in the future. People need to think objectively. We all supported him when he was here and thought he would win big down the road. Now he goes to USC and all of sudden the same people think he can't win? Just take your bias out of these arguments.

I've never said he can't win, I just don't want him to.

Yeah, look at all the winning Fisher has done. He just got hammered by a college guy. Why? Because he's been in the NFL since Lombardi was there and hasn't won anything. Suck it, Jeff.

While I agree with you most of the time, I feel like you're just trying to provoke a response here. I'm pretty sure every AD
in the NCAA would take Fisher over
Kiffin.
That being said I've been advocating
Fisher leaving since the Titans most recent playoff beating from Baltimore.

I love insulting Fisher KIFFIN KIFFIN KIFFIN KIFFIN KIFFIN KIFFIN KIFFIN.

(I don't care if Kiffin wasn't used in a grammatically correct manner, that just shows my hatred for Fisher and the Titans)

Are you still upset that Memphis doesn't have an NFL team or is it something else about the Titans and Fisher that you hate?

Sure he is, just dangling the bait out there. Glad someone else caught that. I guess it provides him with some form of entertainment.
With Bud Adams as owner Fisher has one arm tied around his back already. I don't care for his conservative style, but he's done a decent job with the Titans. If we could ever get ole tight wad Bud to loosen up his check book a little, we might do something here.
You can't take it with you Bud.

Someone on another board said this:

But Lane has coached in the NFL and he is well aware or should be of NFL protocol. Any coach must first contact the team to ask their permission to present a job offer to one of their coaches. You're not supposed to contact the assistant coach first, offer him the job then call the head coach after the fact.

It's not the fact that they aren't in Memphis. I couldn't care less about that. With family from Wisconsin, I grew up loving the Packers and no hometown NFL team will change that. The problem was the way the city was treated when they were in Memphis. They wrote off the city, any community involvement was for Nashville, not Memphis. It was just wrong how they did the city.

So back when this happened:

I was with a bunch of friends who were seconds from wrist-slitting, and I couldn't have been happier.

Ha. That actual pic is everywhere in St. Louis so I've grown a immunity to that scene :neener2:....though I would have to say a blowout works alot better for a "failure" motivational poster than a realy close loss (i.e. OSU blown out by UF)

But back to what you actually said; if that's the case then shouldn't you be mad at the NFL in general? They were the ones who kept toying with Memphis by promising them an NFL team over the years. Yet when the 4 different times expansion teams were made, they put Memphis in their final 4 only to pass them over for Tampa in 76, in 92 for Charlotte and Jacksonville (seriously...how did Jax make more sense than Memphis), and there's one more I'm blanking on.

I believe it was their idea to have the team play in Memphis while getting ready to move to Nashville as an "oh hey, we had kept saying you'd get an NFL team...we're sorry bout that. But hey, how about we make it up to you by letting this team play for here for a while? Yeah that makes everything better right? good."

Memphis can't support the Griz and it's supposedly a basketball town. There's no way the franchise would've survived there.

No one in Memphis would attend their games at the Liberty Bowl. It was a bad idea to put them there to begin with but I don't see why that would make you hate them. I don't think Fisher or the players had anything to do with that but if you hate the front office for it than I guess I understand.

I was only asking because I saw you liked the Packers so I figured your true rivals would be the Bears and Vikings. I thought it might be about Memphis after that.

I like the Griz and watch them every chance I get. I hate how Memphis and Nashville are somehow supposed to be enemies. I don't see any reason to dislike Memphis.

they regularly supported their CFL, USFL, and WFL teams very well before the leagues each respectively folded, I believe.

I think if they had been given their own team when the city was putting themselves out there for it they would have done fine (better than Jax at least at this point).

The problem with the Grizz was that they came as, in some senses, a consolation prize after the city gave up after 20 or so years of trying for a team. It's almost like a "well we couldn't get you an NFL team like you wanted, so here's one of the NBA's worser teams, hopefully that can cheer some people up"
