Kiffin pisses off Jeff Fisher

I like the Griz and watch them every chance I get. I hate how Memphis and Nashville are somehow supposed to be enemies. I don't see any reason to dislike Memphis.

it's seemed very old-blooded to me always. Again, parents come from each city

It does seem old blooded. Not sure where it started, maybe politics, maybe over music with them having Elvis and Beale St. with the blues compared to music row in Nashville and the Ryman and Grand Ole Opry, who knows???

Once again people are mixing his classlessness with his predicted inability to win in the future. They are different things. He is classless, yes. But that doesn't mean he will not be able to win games in the future. People need to think objectively. We all supported him when he was here and thought he would win big down the road. Now he goes to USC and all of sudden the same people think he can't win? Just take your bias out of these arguments.
Solid post.

I don't hate memphis at all, I hope the grizz does well because they're the state's NBA team. I wish the 3 thirds of the state would stop hating on each other too. I don't understand it.

Kiffin isn't even in the same stratosphere are Jeff Fisher. Jeff Fisher has probably had more staff turnover than any other current HC in the NFL, yet he still produces wins. Fisher also probably gave arguably one of the best coaching jobs in NFL history during the 2001 season.

Trying to mention Fisher and Kiffin in the same sentence is an insult to Fisher.

Could not agree more. The only thing Kiffin has proven is that he knows how to make money. He may end up being a great coach but at this time he still has a losing record as a HC.

Seems like Fisher is just pouting to me.

Where's the backlash against the RB coach? Isn't he the one who's supposed to be loyal to Fisher? Kiffin didn't even go to USC either, so I really doubt he cares what Fisher thinks.

I really doubt the phone call beforehand would've meant anything. If Pola was looking to use this as leverage he would have gone to Fisher and the FO and told them he was on the verge.

Looks like a lot of Titans/Vols fans just looking for anything to complain about Kiffin.

Forget he was our coach, he's just a jackazz. I may be wrong about this, but didn't Garza just leave in the middle of the night? Now Pola. Kiffin didn't go to usc but Pola and Fisher went there. I brought this point up earlier, if trojans treat each other like this, why would anyone want to be one? There is starting be more CA players coming to the SEC and this is just more ammunition against Kiffin.

Fisher called out Pola's lack of commitment as well.

I thoroughly enjoy the excuses/justification/rationalization that follows the neverending obnoxious, juvenile, disrespectful, classless behavior of monte's kid.

Monte must be so proud...and ashamed of his wealthy slug of a son.

It's not the fact that they aren't in Memphis. I couldn't care less about that. With family from Wisconsin, I grew up loving the Packers and no hometown NFL team will change that. The problem was the way the city was treated when they were in Memphis. They wrote off the city, any community involvement was for Nashville, not Memphis. It was just wrong how they did the city.

So back when this happened:

I was with a bunch of friends who were seconds from wrist-slitting, and I couldn't have been happier.

Would be more fitting if it was Brett Favre throwing a game losing interception or the Mets spending 150 million to miss the playoffs.

Maybe they treated Memphis poorly because Memphis is one big trash can.

Fisher is pouting because a reporter came to him and he answered the question honestly? Weird.

And people wonder why Memphis kids don't come to Tennessee.

If this were an isolated incident, I could give Kiffin the benefit of the doubt. The guy has a history of classless acts though. This doesn't mean he will fail at USC but he better hope to hell he is successful because he is burning bridges with several people.
