If you're just thinking about tomorrow. FSU is a better job than One Miss too
Pretty much what I’m thinking. Kiffin has one more move in him I think. The job has to check a lot of boxes for him or he will stay at ole Miss. Florida is a good job if they get a good AD. You’ve got some other places that will be looking at some point.

You're right about the AD and that's probably what BOT was thinking

You do realize UK only lost to UGA by 1 right? Why do you think Lane wants to leave OM for a worse job at UF?
Higher upside in the recruiting base, probably bigger $$ for NIL and he can win it all down there. Provided he'd choose to deal with an iffy administration and other issues.

I feel like UF has always been a bigger brand than Ole Miss and they have better resources, especially for recruiting since all the recruits in the state of Florida.

With Mississippi State in shambles, it’s likely that Ole Miss has the pick of the litter in their state. Not to mention it’s the closest SEC program to Memphis.

Florida is in the same boat as the Auburn job. FSU is going to get that way too. While there are some drawbacks to Ole Miss compared to the others in facilities and resources, those 3 jobs have toxic admins and AD’s.

And in the expanded playoff era, those jobs are that attractive. Expanding the playoffs means the route to the playoff are easier for historically “lesser” programs.

I don’t see Kiffin leaving Ole Miss until his daughter is done there. Based on that article, going to Florida would be worst thing for his lifestyle personally.

Now if Ole Miss somehow falters and fails to make playoff this year, I think all bets are off. This is best Ole Miss roster in decades.

Yeah but with expansion, lesser stature programs can be built up to national standing.

Their path to the playoffs will be difficult now. Yes, I agree about the ADs. Maybe one of those schools will get a Danny White. Unlikely at the Barn

Right

Ole miss to me is in a weird spot. It’s trending up obviously but how good are they?

Florida Auburn and even A&M are historically strong programs that are trending down and sinking like an anchor. The question is if those programs have an institutional issues that can’t be solved overnight…. Ole Miss doesn’t have that issue right now as a school or program.

What is Kiffen greatest accomplishment as a HC. Conference USA championship @ FAU. Another Sunbelt Billie in the making. His best accomplishment is, he gets the most time outs in college football using the fainting goats woke tool on both offense & defense. He is a credit to the dignity of the game.

Keep in mind Napier signed a $50 million contract. The buyout on that has to be horrendous.
Yup...pretty steep. " If Florida decides to hold on to Napier until the end of the season, the Gators would be facing a $25.67 million buyout with $12.83 million within 30 days of the termination."

Home run for Florida but won’t happen anyway.

I'm not so sure Ryan Day is the home run hire some think he is.

Guy has never really had to recruit without the tOSU name behind him.

Just not sure of how much of the Buckeyes success is due to Day and how much is due to it being Ohio State. I honestly think they could name my 86 year old mother as HC and still win 9 plus games. (Her football knowledge is limited to the fact that the QB throws the ball)

Obviously things will be a bit trickier with the new additions, but the Buckeyes only having to actually worry about 1 or 2 regular season games a year has been a great boon for them

Maybe that’s true, but it would create a new buzz around the program and be a lot better than anything they’ve had in recent memory.

Listening to the local residents here talk though the brass at Florida would actually have to care about the program for them to bring in a coach such as Day.

Their level of interest is somewhere around Chip Kelly level.

eh, they may be able to get him before he is fired type of situation. they get to "hire away" OSU's coach on the relative cheap.
