Blaker, stick to lies about magic phones and intimidating Tyler Bray. Your attempts at humor are almost as pathetic as Trashville's attempt to pass itself off as a bigtime city.

The "Athens of the South" thing is a joke, sure, but it still has more to do than pretty much any other city in TN

Still no answers as to what is wrong with Nashville. I think it's an a-ok town.

I like Nashville, especially for a city in the South. I just wouldn't justify loving Nashville by comparing it to other cities in the state.

It's a great town if you like mullets, faux cowboys, Tammy Wynette impersonators, Willie Nelson wannabes, Bible thumpers, and entertainers not cool or talented enough to make it in New York or L.A.

Everyone has different tastes in what they like. I like Nashville because it's about as small as a city can get and still have access to professional sports. I don't want to deal with big city traffic like Atlanta but still enjoy going to an NFL game from time to time. Nashville has some amenities of a larger city with a small town feel to it, imo.

It doesn't offend me if Hat or someone else doesn't like Nashville, they have a right to choose where they want to live or to what they like about a city.

I don't think we're a big time city though some other people might think that. I know we could never support an MLB team and that we're at the bottom of the list when it comes to markets in the NFL but that's OK with me.

What about the other 95% of the people that live in Nashville? Some saving kids at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital. Nashville has a lot of good going for it.

Haha so basically, it's in the Bible Belt (the entire South), its musicians aren't as good as the two biggest cities in America, and there's a lot of country music that's pretty easy to ignore anyway? Sounds like hell...and way worse than Knoxville

Who even considers Knoxville a city? It's a college town. Nashville, on the other hand, is Wichita on steroids. Sadly, the majority of the inhabitants are delusional enough to think their city is on par with Chicago and New York.

I haven't heard anyone say that Nashville is on par with Chicago or even worse, NYC. I would think that ignorance is in the minority

nobody in Nashville thinks the city ranks up there, drop the hyperbole.

pretty much all the southern cities are terrible, but nashville isn't too bad.

I think you have Nashville confused with Atlanta...

Plus I'd say that attitude is probably more prevalent in Memphis than it is here. Don't know much about the lawyers, but most people that grow up here don't feel like they're part of some sort of international hub.

We do have an international airport that doesn't offer any international flights.

Boo hoo. I'm just glad to see Pola is smart enough to realize college ball in L.A. is preferable to the NFL in Branson East.

I wasn't crying. I just think he's a piece of trash for how he handles and does things - i dont want to say unprofessionally nor backhandedly, but I can't think of a good word inbetween. I realize at the end of the day all that matters is how well he does, but I'm still allowed to dislike the way he does things. There are ways to work like a respectful, mature adult in the business world and still be successful; I just don't think he handles himself as such.

Hat-

Speaking of Nashville, do you ever encounter any of the Nashville TV ad attorneys? Bart or Blair Durham, Mitch Grissim, Hughes & Coleman, Michael Ponce or JG Wentworth. These guys run commercials non stop.

Is it that you're from Memphis then and that's where the feelings come from? I mean I know the cities dislike each other, but from all I have seen a lot of that has been let go of in the last decade or so; I haven't seen it that much anymore.

I'm very familiar with the past ill-will between the cities; I come from a father from Memphis and a mother from Nashville.

I totally agree about the St Jude comparison. It's hard to compete with a cutting edge cancer research hospital that doesn't charge a single cent to any patient that can't afford treatment. I'm not sure where the rest of the Nashville hate comes from though
